Tales of the Bizarre: Spring Special aired on April 4, 1991.

"Tales of the Bizarre", in which familiar storyteller Tamori and a star-studded cast take us into a "strange world". This time, Tamori, the storyteller, will present five gems: Gorilla, The Terrifying Karaoke Singing Battle, Telepathic Love, Housewife Sachiko's Secret Pleasure and Merry Christmas 2040

A four-part anthology in the spirit of The Twilight Zone, this film starts off with a group of commuters stranded at a train station in the rain, listening to stories told by one of the group. These include tales of a group stranded in the mountains and haunted by guilt over a death they inadvertantly caused, an emotionally broken chessmaster pressed into playing a real-life game for an eccentric millionaire, a wandering medieval samurai who finds a modern-day cell phone on the ground and a person on the other end asking questions about the past, and a young couple who agree to try a computer simulation of what their future as husband and wife would be like.

Consisting of 5 stories: 1. Extra Synopsis: A man decides to go against a society whose every action and exchange of dialogue has already been prewritten in the screenplay of life. 2. 13-banme no Kyaku (Guest no. 13) Synopsis: A short-tempered man gets his hair cut at a strange barber shop only to find that he cannot leave before going through a certain process. 3. Black Room Synopsis: A son returns home from America to find his hometown shrouded in black and his parents behaving very strangely. 4. Boku wa Tabi o Suru (I'm Taking a Trip) Synopsis: A man’s older sister goes on a trip without realizing the terrifying truth. 5. Otona Juken (Adult Test) Synopsis: A young man must prove that he is truly an adult through a series of real life scenario tests.

***Kyouko-san (Miss Kyouko) A young therapist at a hospital investigates when a spirit appears and kills people who say "Kyouko-san, Kyouko-san, please make me pretty" to the bathroom mirror. ***Buchou OL (Manager-OL) [office lady] An OL and her boss switch bodies. ***Kinou Kouen (Yesterday at the park) Domoto Koichi plays a man who loses his friend due to a freak accident. He then finds that through a time slip, he can return to the previous day and save his friend. ***Neko ga Ongaeshi (Cat Repays a Favor) Kashiwagi Emi (Uchiyama Rina) is unable to get over her grandmother's death. Her cat Kuro decides he will cure her loneliness. ***Kazoku Kaigi (Family Meeting) A family of three meet with a car accident, but strangely wake up in their home the next morning. They are then told that they have to sacrifice one of them so two may live.

***Sainou-dama A talentless young musician receives a spam email advertising "Talent Balls"--three lollipops which when eaten will awaken your hidden talents and turn you into a savant. However, what awakens within him turns out to be far from what he expects. ***Virtual Memory A women is understress at her job and goes to a store that offers her a machine that allows her to live other peoples memories. What happens when she starts selling hers? ***Funsadan Kyouiku A new teacher finds that her pay is based off her popularity with the students, so she starts to create problems for herself to solve. ***Gozen 2-ji no Chime A writer gets a call at his front gate every day at 2 am, but no one believes him. And then a murder happens and none of the cameras pick the criminal up. ***Kaisou Densha An old man revisiting memories on the subway.

Hosted by veteran comedian Tamori, "Bizarre Tales 2007 Fall Special" presents five tales. 1. Mirai Dousoukai - starring Ishihara Satomi. 2. Countdown - starring Abe Sadao. 3. Jihanki Otoko - starring Joshima Shigeru. 4. Gomi Onna - starring Matsushita Yuki. 5. 48% no Koi - starring Shiraishi Miho. Synopsis: A "trainee angel" named Natsumi works on Earth for an advertising company. In order for her to become a fully-fledged angel, Natsumi must facilitate the meeting of a man and a woman who are destined "by fate" to spend their lives together, and she has her sights on a man who works in the same building.

Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the series. In this work, we collaborate with five popular manga artists such as Go Nagai, Junji Ito, Eiichiro Oda, Kazuo Umezu and Masayuki Ishikawa.

"Box" Shuko Yoshino (played by Yuko Takeuchi), a researcher at a medical university, was suddenly hit in the head while working. When she woke up, she found herself locked in a sealed metal box. Ryota Murakami (played by Satoshi His Wife), a single office worker in "Glasses Bring Happiness", accidentally received a smart glasses. With the help of the glasses, he began to interact with the beautiful woman. Ayumu Miura (played by Mizuki Yamamoto); "Fierce House" Yukiko (Played by Miki Nakatani) Moved into a new house with her daughter Zhuli, but there seemed to be a terrible grudge living here; Hatsuno (played by Takashi Abe), the head of the financing department of "×", accidentally found a × on his forehead, but the people around him couldn't see it at all. Shotaro (played by Shinnosuke Manjima) is experiencing a difficult moment in life. This special edition features four unique horror stories, each exploring mysterious and thought-provoking themes. Episode summaries: 1. "Tales of the Bizarre: 2023 Summer Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '23夏の特別編) aired on Fuji TV on June 17, 2023, featuring four mysterious tales: 1. "Princess Club" A housewife revisits a childhood club to relive her dreams, facing unexpected consequences. 2. "Kobayashi Family Wonderland" A family turns their home into a theme park, but their ambitious project spirals out of control. 3. "Gaze" A student discovers a new eye drop causes everyone to fixate on her, revealing an unsettling truth. 4. "Rainbow" A photographer captures a mysterious girl under a rainbow, unveiling a connection that transcends time.

"Tales of the Bizarre: 2023 Fall Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '23秋の特別編) is a Japanese anthology drama that aired on Fuji TV on November 11, 2023. This special presents four unique, mysterious tales. Episode summaries: 1. "The Eternal Two" An assistant accused of murder alters reality with a mysterious button. 2. "False Accusation in Hell" A lawyer defends a deceased man in Hell, uncovering shocking truths. 3. "Transistor Compression Contest" A fierce competition to compress a magazine leads to unexpected rivalries. 4. "Tales of the Bizarre: 2024 Summer Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '24夏の特別編) aired on Fuji TV on June 8, 2024, featuring four intriguing stories: 1. "The Mansion of Remembrance" A woman awakens in a mysterious mansion after an accident, encountering residents with fragmented memories. 2. "Tomobiki Village" A university student visits a secluded village for a friend's funeral, uncovering eerie traditions and hidden truths. 3. "Treasure of Humanity" An artist is recruited by a global organization to preserve cultural heritage, leading to unexpected revelations about his talent. 4. "Weekly Ex-Lover Creation" A woman assembles an android replica of her ex-boyfriend using a magazine kit, blurring the lines between reality and artificiality.

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the popular omnibus drama "Tales of the Unusual," in which Tamori serves as the storyteller, "Tales of the Tales of the Unusual 35th Anniversary Special: Legendary Masterpieces One Night Only Revival Edition" will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturday 9pm) on May 31st. The program will feature five of Tamori's most famous works from the series' past. The programs that will be broadcast on the 31st are as follows: "BLACK ROOM" (broadcast in 2001, starring Takuya Kimura) "The Night Train Man" (broadcast in 2002, starring Ren Osugi) "Locker" (broadcast in 1990, starring Yuji Oda) "Bijokan" (broadcast in 2005, starring Satoshi Tsumabuki) "Memories of Love, Don't Stop" (broadcast in 2019, starring Yuki Saito)

35th-anniversary Fuji TV special featuring three new “Tales of the Unusual” shorts: Anata Hakubutsukan, Nanakai Tōsō, Tomaranakereba Ikirarenai Game, plus a one-night revival of the 1991 classic “Happy Birthday to My Home.”

The 2026 summer special of Fuji TV’s long-running anthology series presents four new strange tales. A veteran detective investigates a crime scene where evidence and bodies seem to vanish. A woman clearing her late mother’s apartment finds the past refusing to be thrown away. A young girl uses a mysterious costume to become an adult man. And a 26-year-old man discovers that his mother has been listed for auction online. Each story leads ordinary people into a surreal, unsettling world.

A lawyer with a big personality works with an straightlaced recent law graduate on various law cases in Japan.

Narrates the events and cases encountered by Kaoru Utsumi, a rookie detective, and Manabu Yukawa, a university associate professor, while the two pair up to solve many mysterious cases.

Minato Shindo has savant syndrome. His memory is amazing, but he has difficulty communicating with other people. When Minato was little, he dreamed of becoming a doctor. He met Doctor Akira Shiga and he wanted to become a pediatric surgeon. Akira was surprised by the 7-year-old's memory of the human organs and he decided to support Minato in achieving his dream. Eventually, Minato graduated from medical school and passed the national exam for medical practitioners. Now, Akira works as a director at a large hospital. He suggests to Minato to work in the pediatric surgery department at the hospital where he works.

The special is set 3 years prior to the drama series, with the story being related to a murder case that was partly referenced in the original show. Detective Kusanagi is looking to solve a murder mystery, and he gets back in touch with his former badminton teammate, the brilliant professor Yukawa Manabu.

Fukada Kyoko plays the role of the main character, Shinoda Kaori, who works in the airport control tower as an air traffic controller. As a single small error of judgment can lead to a catastrophe, air traffic controllers must be on alert at all times. And this is why it is considered to be one of the most difficult occupations in the world. This drama will portray the teamwork and struggles between Shinoda and the other staff, dramas that arise at the airport and the secrets of airports... As well, along with real life stories that have occurred in the airport, it will portray how the aiport staff ensures the safety of people and the importance of protecting lives.

High schooler Ayumi's perfect world evaporates when her envious classmate Zenko somehow steals her body, her boyfriend and her life.

Nakajima looks up to his father, who was a war photographer, but can only get a job as an assistant for gravure magazines. Mizuno is a provisional high school teacher, currently on probation. Nishimura is Mizuno's best friend, whose boyfriend has been avoiding her since she discovered she was pregnant. Ichihara works at a magazine where he is being blackmailed into sexual favours by his chief editor. Park, on Twitter, takes on the persona of a doctor, when he is actually working at a company that sells medical equipment to disinterested doctors, and at the same time, trying to take care of his younger sister. This is a story about the blossoming friendship of five young people who were brought together by Twitter, and their journey to finding honesty with each other and with themselves.

Kohei KAJI (Atsushi ITO) a young passionate teacher who's just started his career at a junior high school, but he is thrown into the chaos and desperation when one of his student dies at school. Tamako TSUMIKI (Miho KANNO) is a cool elite lawyer who seems to have some secret connection with that dead girl. Is that an accident? Or suicide? Together they start investigate what has been going on at the school and they have to face some terrifying facts that show how easily one could fall. This is a controversial theme that questions every one of us if we can change the world.

Takada Yu is an employee of a development firm. His father has favored his high-achieving older brother and been indifferent to Yu since young. Takeru, a make-up artist, is introduced to Ruka by her housemate, Eri and thus begin a journey of friendship.

Japanese Ministry of Foreign affairs diplomat Kosaku Kuroda (Yuji Oda) is dispatched all over the world to protect Japanese interests and citizens.After successfully defeating a kidnapping attempt of Japanese citizen in South America, Kuroda is assigned to protect Foreign Ministry official Shoko Mikami (Tamiyo Kusakari) in San Francisco during a World Trade Organization meeting. He meets informant John (Lee Byung-Hun) who gives details on security arrangements and former diplomat Takeshi Shimomura (Teruyuki Kagawa) who worked with Kuroda at the Mexican Embassy 11 years ago.With the help of the information received from John, diplomat Kosaku Koroda is able to prevent an attack on Shoko Mikami by extremists, but as he investigates how the attacker knew of Mikami's movements, Takeshi Shimomura jumps off a building to his death.Meanwhile, a suspect emerges in the murder of a university professor in Japan that took place recently.

Kazuko Yamase is a 23-year-old, broken-hearted freeter. One day, she sees a knitted teddy bear that really appeals to her. She decides to buy it. Later, the knitted teddy bear suddenly speaks! Within the teddy bear, Yasuo Amano's spirit lives. He is the person who knitted the teddy bear and he was also detective. Kazuko then becomes involved in a case with Yasuo and helps to solve the case.

With his looks, personality and capabilities, 35-years-old Haruno Yoichi is considered the "ideal husband". However, he feels that his wife's attitude has cooled ever since she gave birth to their child. He knows neither the cause nor the solution, and has been reduced to the "unfortunate husband" at home. 28-years-old Chisato was thought to be the "ideal wife with all the the traditional graces" who does her best to look to her best to look to her husband with respect. But her husband's words and deeds which she could excuse until after childbirth, now make her feel uneasy. Because of her continued hysterics, she has become the "monster wife" to her husband.
