Tales of the Bizarre: Spring Special aired on April 4, 1991.

"Tales of the Bizarre", in which familiar storyteller Tamori and a star-studded cast take us into a "strange world". This time, Tamori, the storyteller, will present five gems: Gorilla, The Terrifying Karaoke Singing Battle, Telepathic Love, Housewife Sachiko's Secret Pleasure and Merry Christmas 2040

A four-part anthology in the spirit of The Twilight Zone, this film starts off with a group of commuters stranded at a train station in the rain, listening to stories told by one of the group. These include tales of a group stranded in the mountains and haunted by guilt over a death they inadvertantly caused, an emotionally broken chessmaster pressed into playing a real-life game for an eccentric millionaire, a wandering medieval samurai who finds a modern-day cell phone on the ground and a person on the other end asking questions about the past, and a young couple who agree to try a computer simulation of what their future as husband and wife would be like.

Consisting of 5 stories: 1. Extra Synopsis: A man decides to go against a society whose every action and exchange of dialogue has already been prewritten in the screenplay of life. 2. 13-banme no Kyaku (Guest no. 13) Synopsis: A short-tempered man gets his hair cut at a strange barber shop only to find that he cannot leave before going through a certain process. 3. Black Room Synopsis: A son returns home from America to find his hometown shrouded in black and his parents behaving very strangely. 4. Boku wa Tabi o Suru (I'm Taking a Trip) Synopsis: A man’s older sister goes on a trip without realizing the terrifying truth. 5. Otona Juken (Adult Test) Synopsis: A young man must prove that he is truly an adult through a series of real life scenario tests.

***Replay A man sees his dead girlfriend through his digital camcorder. ***Inochibi (Life Force) A nurse is able to save dying patients with her 'life force'. ***Ame no Houmonsha (The Visitor in the Rain) A woman visits her sister on a rainy night to celebrate her birthday, but finds a stranger in her house who may be a murderer at large... ***Okusanya-san (The Wife Seller) A man stumbles upon a shop selling perfect wives. ***Imakiyo-san (Mr. Imakiyo) A student finds a spirit called Imakiyo in his apartment, and he has to obey three rules or suffer the consequences...

***Kyouko-san (Miss Kyouko) A young therapist at a hospital investigates when a spirit appears and kills people who say "Kyouko-san, Kyouko-san, please make me pretty" to the bathroom mirror. ***Buchou OL (Manager-OL) [office lady] An OL and her boss switch bodies. ***Kinou Kouen (Yesterday at the park) Domoto Koichi plays a man who loses his friend due to a freak accident. He then finds that through a time slip, he can return to the previous day and save his friend. ***Neko ga Ongaeshi (Cat Repays a Favor) Kashiwagi Emi (Uchiyama Rina) is unable to get over her grandmother's death. Her cat Kuro decides he will cure her loneliness. ***Kazoku Kaigi (Family Meeting) A family of three meet with a car accident, but strangely wake up in their home the next morning. They are then told that they have to sacrifice one of them so two may live.

***Sainou-dama A talentless young musician receives a spam email advertising "Talent Balls"--three lollipops which when eaten will awaken your hidden talents and turn you into a savant. However, what awakens within him turns out to be far from what he expects. ***Virtual Memory A women is understress at her job and goes to a store that offers her a machine that allows her to live other peoples memories. What happens when she starts selling hers? ***Funsadan Kyouiku A new teacher finds that her pay is based off her popularity with the students, so she starts to create problems for herself to solve. ***Gozen 2-ji no Chime A writer gets a call at his front gate every day at 2 am, but no one believes him. And then a murder happens and none of the cameras pick the criminal up. ***Kaisou Densha An old man revisiting memories on the subway.

Hosted by veteran comedian Tamori, "Bizarre Tales 2007 Fall Special" presents five tales. 1. Mirai Dousoukai - starring Ishihara Satomi. 2. Countdown - starring Abe Sadao. 3. Jihanki Otoko - starring Joshima Shigeru. 4. Gomi Onna - starring Matsushita Yuki. 5. 48% no Koi - starring Shiraishi Miho. Synopsis: A "trainee angel" named Natsumi works on Earth for an advertising company. In order for her to become a fully-fledged angel, Natsumi must facilitate the meeting of a man and a woman who are destined "by fate" to spend their lives together, and she has her sights on a man who works in the same building.

Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the series. In this work, we collaborate with five popular manga artists such as Go Nagai, Junji Ito, Eiichiro Oda, Kazuo Umezu and Masayuki Ishikawa.

"Box" Shuko Yoshino (played by Yuko Takeuchi), a researcher at a medical university, was suddenly hit in the head while working. When she woke up, she found herself locked in a sealed metal box. Ryota Murakami (played by Satoshi His Wife), a single office worker in "Glasses Bring Happiness", accidentally received a smart glasses. With the help of the glasses, he began to interact with the beautiful woman. Ayumu Miura (played by Mizuki Yamamoto); "Fierce House" Yukiko (Played by Miki Nakatani) Moved into a new house with her daughter Zhuli, but there seemed to be a terrible grudge living here; Hatsuno (played by Takashi Abe), the head of the financing department of "×", accidentally found a × on his forehead, but the people around him couldn't see it at all. Shotaro (played by Shinnosuke Manjima) is experiencing a difficult moment in life. When he was pushed to the extreme, he suddenly told the first lie in the world, and he and his two friends embarked on a magical journey.

This special edition features four unique horror stories, each exploring mysterious and thought-provoking themes. Episode summaries: 1. "What Happened in Ginza" A young boy captures a rare creature known as the "Nihon Ookanemochi" (Japanese Millionaire) in Ginza, leading to unexpected events. 2. "Melody in the Air" An office worker develops a condition where she must act in sync with the music playing in her mind to survive. 3. "The Delivery" A man discovers a mysterious app that delivers anything instantly, but its use leads to unforeseen consequences. 4. "Pretending to Make a Call" A woman fakes phone calls to avoid unwanted attention, only to find herself connected to her deceased father.

As part of the long-running anthology series, which began in 1990, this special features a collection of mysterious and thought-provoking stories. Episode Summaries: 1. "Love Triangle with My Ex" Mika's ex-boyfriend reappears in her life as a robot, complicating her current relationship. 2. "The Concierge" A single mother moves into a new apartment where a mysterious concierge begins to fulfill her every wish with unsettling consequences. 3. "Tales of the Bizarre: 2023 Summer Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '23夏の特別編) aired on Fuji TV on June 17, 2023, featuring four mysterious tales: 1. "Princess Club" A housewife revisits a childhood club to relive her dreams, facing unexpected consequences. 2. "Kobayashi Family Wonderland" A family turns their home into a theme park, but their ambitious project spirals out of control. 3. "Gaze" A student discovers a new eye drop causes everyone to fixate on her, revealing an unsettling truth. 4. "Rainbow" A photographer captures a mysterious girl under a rainbow, unveiling a connection that transcends time.

"Tales of the Bizarre: 2023 Fall Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '23秋の特別編) is a Japanese anthology drama that aired on Fuji TV on November 11, 2023. This special presents four unique, mysterious tales. Episode summaries: 1. "The Eternal Two" An assistant accused of murder alters reality with a mysterious button. 2. "False Accusation in Hell" A lawyer defends a deceased man in Hell, uncovering shocking truths. 3. "Transistor Compression Contest" A fierce competition to compress a magazine leads to unexpected rivalries. 4. "Set Your Life's Playlist in Advance" A life-caster builds an AI idol, unveiling secrets from her past.

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the popular omnibus drama "Tales of the Unusual," in which Tamori serves as the storyteller, "Tales of the Tales of the Unusual 35th Anniversary Special: Legendary Masterpieces One Night Only Revival Edition" will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturday 9pm) on May 31st. The program will feature five of Tamori's most famous works from the series' past. 35th-anniversary Fuji TV special featuring three new “Tales of the Unusual” shorts: Anata Hakubutsukan, Nanakai Tōsō, Tomaranakereba Ikirarenai Game, plus a one-night revival of the 1991 classic “Happy Birthday to My Home.”

The 2026 summer special of Fuji TV’s long-running anthology series presents four new strange tales. A veteran detective investigates a crime scene where evidence and bodies seem to vanish. A woman clearing her late mother’s apartment finds the past refusing to be thrown away. A young girl uses a mysterious costume to become an adult man. And a 26-year-old man discovers that his mother has been listed for auction online. Each story leads ordinary people into a surreal, unsettling world.

Hotaru Kusakari is married to Gorō Kusakari, and she works as a pharmacist. She holds a secret that she is really a ninja and part of the Kōka ninja clan. Her husband holds a routine job as a postal delivery man, but he has a secret as well. He is also a ninja and part of the Iga ninja clan. Even though Hotaru and Gorō are a married couple, they are each unaware that their partner is a ninja.

This renzoku follows four women in the "around 40" generation. Shifumi is an attractive woman who stole her classmate's boyfriend in high school, and despite criticism from others, she got married and had a child. However, she soon divorced and currently keeps a younger boyfriend. Three of Shifumi's former classmates: ordinary housewife Makiko, work-focused doctor Neri, and housewife Miwa. Miwa is having an affair with Shifumi's ex-husband Keishi (the boyfriend Shifumi originally stole from her.) Eventually, the various secrets and lies kept by the four women all come to light.

Two women are bound by their mutual passion for writing. Tono Risa is already a successful writer. Her books are all best sellers and have been made into movies, putting increasing pressure on Risa to keep churning out masterpieces. The professional pressures and her personal responsibilities begin to make Risa feel overwhelmed and dejected. Yuki is a young woman who moves to Tokyo with the dream of becoming a published writer someday. When she is about to give up on that dream, Yuki is offered a job to work as Risa’s assistant by her editor. The two women start off a little stilted but eventually form a friendship and a productive working relationship. As Yuki’s role gradually increases from being an assistant to a ghostwriter for Risa, will Risa feel threatened by Yuki’s ambition?

The three brothers of the Kodai family possess telepathy, and this has led to many nerve-wracking incidents. Their aunt Anne narrates an episode from the past. 30 years ago, Yuko, a fourth-year student at a prestigious private university, learns about the existence of Kodai Shigemasa, who has been admitted from Oxford. One day, Yuko’s friend Nao and Masao start dating. Yuko congratulates her but detects Masao’s unfaithfulness immediately after that. Although Yuko meditates and tries to make the two of them reconcile, they break up in a just one week. Masao then promptly confesses his feelings for Yuko

This drama follows the staff of an Italian restaurant and their everyday struggles. “Roccabianca” is a famous and popular Italian restaurant, but their head chef and owner Tatsumi suddenly collapses and the restaurant loses its unique flavor. The number of customers rapidly declines, but the owner’s daughter and deputy manager Saori happens to find another chef named Ezaki through an online job market who learned cooking at the same place her father did. Ezaki becomes the new head chef of this restaurant and while nobody can deny that he is a gifted chef, it’s his extreme rationalism that doesn’t exactly go well with the restaurants attempt to save its traditional flavor.

Kenzaki Motoharu has been married for five years. Throughout these five years, he has been receiving stress from his boss and wife, Mio. Motoharu begin to wonder why he ended up marrying with Mio. While showing dissatisfaction and regret with his married life, he suddenly slipped back in time and witnessed his wife getting replaced.

Date Kazuyoshi (Sakai) is a detective on the Kanagawa prefectural police force. During the day, he is known as a "Buddha" for his gentle personality, pouring all of his energy into resolving each case. At the end of World War II, a top-secret Japanese submarine and an American submarine have a fatal encounter and both are lost. Fifty years later the descendants of the submarines' officers are sent by the United Nations in a new secret submarine to investigate mysterious incidents in the Antarctics that could be linked to the old submarines' disappearances, and could also be the precursor to an invasion by aliens from deep inside the Earth

Shomuni, that's the common name given to General Affairs Section 2 of a trading company. Here are six women who have ended up in this department known as "the dump" for office ladies. But Chinatsu Tsuboi (Makiko Esumi) declares that the value of woman is equal to the number of men. With her as the central focus they create a totally new type of office lady drama that does away with those heartless men still caught up in worn-out social ideas and the class system within the company.

Forced out of his research group after conflicts with his colleagues, Ogawa Takanobu takes up an offer to teach at a girls' high school in Nara. When taking roll call on the first day one of his students, Hotta Ito, sneaks into class late, claiming a bogus excuse--that she got a ticket after trying to park her deer in front of the train station.

Robot maker, Kronos Heaven, finally develops "Night Tenjō", the perfect male humanoid programmed to be devoted and completely loyal to his lover. The company chooses temp worker Riko Izawa to take part in a five-day free trial. At first, Riko only sees Night as a household appliance. But when she finds out how deep Night's devotion to herself is, Riko finds herself falling in love with him. Joining the love triangle is Sōshi Asamoto, a distinguished young executive at her company who has feelings for her.

Kie Hirano is an ordinary OL who often daydreams. Mitsumasa Kodai at the same company as Kie Hirano, but he is an elite salaryman. He is the eldest son in the Kodai family and he is also telepathic. Mitsumasa Kodai got his special ability to read other people's mind from his British grandmother. Mitsumasa becomes attracted to Kie's warm heart and her dreamy temperament. They begin to date and enjoy their days together, but Mitsumasa Kodai's mother calls.

Lupin's plans to intercept two old glass photographic plates from being delivered to a mysterious art dealer named Mr. Suzuki misfires, and it doesn't help matters that Goemon and Jigen are suffering from... efficiency problems. Meanwhile, Inspector Zenigata has a new tag-along in the Lupin chase: the beautiful young reporter Maria. But what is Maria's connection to the mysterious Mr. Suzuki?
