Tales of the Bizarre: Spring Special aired on April 4, 1991.

"Tales of the Bizarre", in which familiar storyteller Tamori and a star-studded cast take us into a "strange world". This time, Tamori, the storyteller, will present five gems: Gorilla, The Terrifying Karaoke Singing Battle, Telepathic Love, Housewife Sachiko's Secret Pleasure and Merry Christmas 2040

Consisting of 5 stories: 1. Extra Synopsis: A man decides to go against a society whose every action and exchange of dialogue has already been prewritten in the screenplay of life. 2. 13-banme no Kyaku (Guest no. 13) Synopsis: A short-tempered man gets his hair cut at a strange barber shop only to find that he cannot leave before going through a certain process. 3. Black Room Synopsis: A son returns home from America to find his hometown shrouded in black and his parents behaving very strangely. 4. Boku wa Tabi o Suru (I'm Taking a Trip) Synopsis: A man’s older sister goes on a trip without realizing the terrifying truth. 5. Otona Juken (Adult Test) Synopsis: A young man must prove that he is truly an adult through a series of real life scenario tests.

***Kyouko-san (Miss Kyouko) A young therapist at a hospital investigates when a spirit appears and kills people who say "Kyouko-san, Kyouko-san, please make me pretty" to the bathroom mirror. ***Buchou OL (Manager-OL) [office lady] An OL and her boss switch bodies. ***Kinou Kouen (Yesterday at the park) Domoto Koichi plays a man who loses his friend due to a freak accident. He then finds that through a time slip, he can return to the previous day and save his friend. ***Neko ga Ongaeshi (Cat Repays a Favor) Kashiwagi Emi (Uchiyama Rina) is unable to get over her grandmother's death. Her cat Kuro decides he will cure her loneliness. ***Kazoku Kaigi (Family Meeting) A family of three meet with a car accident, but strangely wake up in their home the next morning. They are then told that they have to sacrifice one of them so two may live.

***Sainou-dama A talentless young musician receives a spam email advertising "Talent Balls"--three lollipops which when eaten will awaken your hidden talents and turn you into a savant. However, what awakens within him turns out to be far from what he expects. ***Virtual Memory A women is understress at her job and goes to a store that offers her a machine that allows her to live other peoples memories. What happens when she starts selling hers? ***Funsadan Kyouiku A new teacher finds that her pay is based off her popularity with the students, so she starts to create problems for herself to solve. ***Gozen 2-ji no Chime A writer gets a call at his front gate every day at 2 am, but no one believes him. And then a murder happens and none of the cameras pick the criminal up. ***Kaisou Densha An old man revisiting memories on the subway.

Hosted by veteran comedian Tamori, "Bizarre Tales 2007 Fall Special" presents five tales. 1. Mirai Dousoukai - starring Ishihara Satomi. 2. Countdown - starring Abe Sadao. 3. Jihanki Otoko - starring Joshima Shigeru. 4. Gomi Onna - starring Matsushita Yuki. 5. 48% no Koi - starring Shiraishi Miho. Synopsis: A "trainee angel" named Natsumi works on Earth for an advertising company. In order for her to become a fully-fledged angel, Natsumi must facilitate the meeting of a man and a woman who are destined "by fate" to spend their lives together, and she has her sights on a man who works in the same building.

Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the series. In this work, we collaborate with five popular manga artists such as Go Nagai, Junji Ito, Eiichiro Oda, Kazuo Umezu and Masayuki Ishikawa.

"Box" Shuko Yoshino (played by Yuko Takeuchi), a researcher at a medical university, was suddenly hit in the head while working. When she woke up, she found herself locked in a sealed metal box. Ryota Murakami (played by Satoshi His Wife), a single office worker in "Glasses Bring Happiness", accidentally received a smart glasses. With the help of the glasses, he began to interact with the beautiful woman. Ayumu Miura (played by Mizuki Yamamoto); "Fierce House" Yukiko (Played by Miki Nakatani) Moved into a new house with her daughter Zhuli, but there seemed to be a terrible grudge living here; Hatsuno (played by Takashi Abe), the head of the financing department of "×", accidentally found a × on his forehead, but the people around him couldn't see it at all. Shotaro (played by Shinnosuke Manjima) is experiencing a difficult moment in life. This special edition features four unique horror stories, each exploring mysterious and thought-provoking themes. Episode summaries: 1. "What Happened in Ginza" A young boy captures a rare creature known as the "Nihon Ookanemochi" (Japanese Millionaire) in Ginza, leading to unexpected events. 2. "Melody in the Air" An office worker develops a condition where she must act in sync with the music playing in her mind to survive. 3. "The Delivery" A man discovers a mysterious app that delivers anything instantly, but its use leads to unforeseen consequences. 4. "Pretending to Make a Call" A woman fakes phone calls to avoid unwanted attention, only to find herself connected to her deceased father.

As part of the long-running anthology series, which began in 1990, this special features a collection of mysterious and thought-provoking stories. Episode Summaries: 1. "Tales of the Bizarre: 2023 Summer Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '23夏の特別編) aired on Fuji TV on June 17, 2023, featuring four mysterious tales: 1. "Princess Club" A housewife revisits a childhood club to relive her dreams, facing unexpected consequences. 2. "Kobayashi Family Wonderland" A family turns their home into a theme park, but their ambitious project spirals out of control. 3. "Gaze" A student discovers a new eye drop causes everyone to fixate on her, revealing an unsettling truth. 4. "Rainbow" A photographer captures a mysterious girl under a rainbow, unveiling a connection that transcends time.

"Tales of the Bizarre: 2023 Fall Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '23秋の特別編) is a Japanese anthology drama that aired on Fuji TV on November 11, 2023. This special presents four unique, mysterious tales. Episode summaries: 1. "The Eternal Two" An assistant accused of murder alters reality with a mysterious button. 2. "False Accusation in Hell" A lawyer defends a deceased man in Hell, uncovering shocking truths. 3. "Transistor Compression Contest" A fierce competition to compress a magazine leads to unexpected rivalries. 4. "Set Your Life's Playlist in Advance" A life-caster builds an AI idol, unveiling secrets from her past.

"Tales of the Bizarre: 2024 Summer Special" (世にも奇妙な物語 '24夏の特別編) aired on Fuji TV on June 8, 2024, featuring four intriguing stories: 1. "The Mansion of Remembrance" A woman awakens in a mysterious mansion after an accident, encountering residents with fragmented memories. 2. "Tomobiki Village" A university student visits a secluded village for a friend's funeral, uncovering eerie traditions and hidden truths. 3. "Treasure of Humanity" An artist is recruited by a global organization to preserve cultural heritage, leading to unexpected revelations about his talent. 4. "Weekly Ex-Lover Creation" A woman assembles an android replica of her ex-boyfriend using a magazine kit, blurring the lines between reality and artificiality.

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the popular omnibus drama "Tales of the Unusual," in which Tamori serves as the storyteller, "Tales of the Tales of the Unusual 35th Anniversary Special: Legendary Masterpieces One Night Only Revival Edition" will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturday 9pm) on May 31st. The program will feature five of Tamori's most famous works from the series' past. The programs that will be broadcast on the 31st are as follows: "BLACK ROOM" (broadcast in 2001, starring Takuya Kimura) "The Night Train Man" (broadcast in 2002, starring Ren Osugi) "Locker" (broadcast in 1990, starring Yuji Oda) "Bijokan" (broadcast in 2005, starring Satoshi Tsumabuki) "Memories of Love, Don't Stop" (broadcast in 2019, starring Yuki Saito)

35th-anniversary Fuji TV special featuring three new “Tales of the Unusual” shorts: Anata Hakubutsukan, Nanakai Tōsō, Tomaranakereba Ikirarenai Game, plus a one-night revival of the 1991 classic “Happy Birthday to My Home.”

The 2026 summer special of Fuji TV’s long-running anthology series presents four new strange tales. A veteran detective investigates a crime scene where evidence and bodies seem to vanish. A woman clearing her late mother’s apartment finds the past refusing to be thrown away. A young girl uses a mysterious costume to become an adult man. And a 26-year-old man discovers that his mother has been listed for auction online. Each story leads ordinary people into a surreal, unsettling world.

Tamaki Aso (Honami Suzuki) is a dedicated news anchor known for her stoic professionalism, even reporting on her own husband's tragic death during a broadcast. Her life takes another dramatic turn when she becomes the guardian of her late husband's estranged teenage son, Ryu (Hideaki Takizawa), leading to a rocky start but gradually evolving into a deeper connection. Set against the backdrop of a cutthroat newsroom, the series explores themes of ambition, personal growth, and the struggle to balance career and unexpected familial duties.

Inspired by American TV movies like "Hitchcock Theater" and "The Twilight Zone," the show features multiple works with Tamori as the storyteller and actors as the main characters. While horror and supernatural themes are predominant, a variety of genres like comedy and drama are also produced. Most episodes, however, have a bad ending.

Childhood friends Kōta and Mei were third-year students in high school when Kōta suddenly died. Seven years later, Mei returns to her hometown and visits a place with mid-winter cherry blossom trees that were special to her and Kōta. To her surprise, Kōta, who is supposed to be dead, appears. He is still 17 in mind and body while she is now 24. Kōta can only be here while the cherry blossom blooms. Will he be able to tell Mei his feelings with the time he has left?

Blind traveler Zatoichi is a master swordsman and a masseur with a fondness for gambling on dice games. When he arrives in a village torn apart by warring gangs, he sets out to protect the townspeople.

Segawa Rio, a quick-acting detective, gets transferred to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police's Violent Crimes Division after she got shot during her previous case. She is made to work together with Nagumo Jun, a level-headed but eccentric psychology professor whose skills at behavioral analysis are the key to tracking down the criminals. There's also Teranishi Kei, a shy young detective who's had a crush on Segawa since their days at the academy...

The drama depicts an ordinary high school student growing up by becoming a yakuza head.

Suzuki is an eccentric at university hospital who has been conducting a research to come up with a miracle drug for cancer on his own. One day, Suzuki finally succeeds in developing a new type of anticancer drug that completely hinders the self-renewal of all cancer stem cells. However, his colleagues do not seem to share his excitement, and he is not even allowed to carry out clinical trial on humans. Suzuki is disheartened and completely at a loss by this but then he comes across a girl, Manami, who is suffering from terminal cancer. With help from her, he successfully carries out clinical trial. Yet, things take an unexpected turn. What will become of Suzuki, Manami and all the others around them? What is the fate of this new drug? Pandora's box released all the evils as soon as it was opened. What is it that is ultimately left inside?

Due to Professor Kita’s suggestion, student Moe Nishinosono and Associate Professor Sohei Saikawa head to Professor Kita’s research institute. There, various experiments have been conducted in a low temperature research room. During the night a murder takes place. Two graduate students are found dead in the low temperature research room. How did the killer enter the closed research room and how did the killer leave the room?

The series follows the rich, beautiful, and stuck-up Reiko Shiratori, who has been in love with her friend Tetsuya Akimoto since childhood.

The story continues from the Japanese SIGNAL drama series. In 2021, a limousine taxi driver causes an accident on a highway, and a high-level government official dies in the accident. The cold case investigation unit, including Kento Saegusa and team leader Misaki Sakurai, have doubts about the case. Meanwhile, in 2009, administrative officers die consecutively in car accidents. The police announce these deaths as accidents. Takeshi Ōyama believes that these deaths were not the product of simple accidents. At 11:23 pm, a walkie-talkie turns on and makes a connection between the future and past. Kento Saegusa and Takeshi Ōyama face the threat of bioterrorism.

Nao Saeki (Arisa Mizuki), a successful stylist, is engaged to her caring fiancé, Kazuya Yuki (Tetsuji Tamayama). However, her life changes when her sister Miho dies overseas under mysterious circumstances, leaving her husband, Mitsuhiko Mochizuki (Kippei Shiina), with memory loss. Nao decides to take care of Mitsuhiko and his son, Yusuke. As they live together, Nao's feelings start to shift, growing beyond mere sympathy. As she struggles with her emotions for Mitsuhiko and her commitment to Kazuya, unexpected complications arise, especially when Mitsuhiko begins to regain his memory.

Reiko and Tetsuya continue to live together. Reiko, who was informed by Kyoko that she was engaged to Takada, pretended not to be interested in her marriage, but in her heart, she wanted to marry Tetsuya. Tetsuya, unable to see through Reiko's true feelings, replies, "We shouldn't think about marriage until we're both adults and can live on our own." Meanwhile, Reiko's father, Shotaro, is stricken with cancer and receives a call that he has six months to live. In order to fulfill her father's wish, "I wanted to see Reiko as a bride while I was still alive," Reiko asked Tetsuya to marry him, and Tetsuya hesitated but accepted. However, Shotaro's doctor informs him that the cancer was misdiagnosed. While Reiko is relieved, she does not want to cancel her marriage to Tetsuya, so she proceeds with her wedding preparations without informing the people around her.
