Hilleborg always speaks negatively about her king's marriage to his left hand, Countess Danner. At the Central Theatre in the chorus girls' cloakroom, the girls have a very lively discussion: The ever-recurring topic - their various male acquaintances. The only one who doesn't join in the joke is the pretty Mette Madsen. She thinks her friends are frivolous and stupid. Oda Holm, who is a very pretty girl, full of sex appeal, claims that Mette, who is also an excellent chairwoman of the chorus girls' organization, is completely devoid of "Oomph". She is incapable of exerting any attraction on men. It becomes too much for Mette.

A lottery win allows the kitchen girl Hansy Hansen to lodge at an upmarket seaside hotel where the widower landowner Rosen falls in love with her. However, Rosen is in financial difficulties because of the lawyer Sadolin, who reneged on marrying his daughter. He puts everything he can into the daughter's horse to win a race.

There is a severe housing shortage in Copenhagen. Eva and Harry both respond to the same rental advertisement. The landlord, Baldrian, believes they are married, which is why they can have the apartment. Baldrian does not want to rent to single people. Therefore, Eva and Harry decide to pretend to be a married couple. Meanwhile, Harry's fiancée Lise is on her way to Oslo, where she will be staying for a few months. On the way, she meets the charming John. Eva and Harry fall in love and get married. But then Lise announces her arrival in Copenhagen. Peter Soeborg and Susanne have been happily married for a month. He is a postman, but very gifted voice and in a couple of years participated as korherre Alhambra Theatre's operettas. Peter and especially his cute little wife proud dreams for the future, and their mutual friend, the old dresser Kragelund, who lives in the same house, also believe in Peter's abilities. There has to be premiered at the operetta "Love", and Peter hopes to be considered. But it should prove to be quite easy.

The rich couple Jytte and Ole spend their lives partying and having fun. After another evening and night of partying, the couple decides to get divorced. When Ole tells Uncle Frederik that they don't want to be with him anymore, Frederik unfortunately has to tell them that he has ruined their fortune. When Ole gets home, he learns that Jytte is pregnant. This changes their lives to a great extent - Jytte and Ole have suddenly found meaning in life.

The new students Eigil and Arne celebrate the end of school. "You are now grown men and women with a carnal desire that every human being contains. This desire can be like a fire in your body, but don't let yourself burn to death," their old teacher admonishes. Nevertheless, the encounter with Copenhagen and its many temptations turns out to be fateful for the charming Eigil and the otherwise faithful Arne.
