Summer Dreams

Sergei Bukreyev arrives with a team of meliorators in another village and immediately draws attention to the director of the farm Anna Talnikova. Her dedication to work scares Sergei, he even wants to persuade her to leave the farm, but understands that Anna will never be happy without her work, and he – without it.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

Three novellas based on M. Sholokhov's early stories about the first years of the formation of Soviet power on the Don. (1) “Koloverť”. Two Cossack brothers and their elderly father fight for the Bolsheviks, but when only Ignat and his father return to their White-held stanitsa, their third brother betrays them, sealing their fate by handing them over for execution. (2) “Chervotočina”. Idealistic Stepan joins the Komsomol against his wealthy Cossack family’s wishes, but when two oxen he lends to a poor neighbor vanish, his enraged father and brother beat both Stepan and the neighbor to death. (3) “Prodkomissar”. Commissar Ignat Bodiagin is charged with requisitioning grain for the Red Army, only to find his own father condemned for hoarding; he must preside over his execution and soon dies himself leading the resisting Cossacks away from the grain convoy.

Senior ship engineer Valentin Kravchuk brings his son to the Kuban to his aunt to go with his wife to rest in the south. In the evening, at the table, he argues with fellow villagers that he alone will be able to grind two hundred tons of bread. In excitement, he sacrifices the resort and remains at the harvesting shop to prove that he is a warrior in the field - even alone.

Colleagues consider architect Nesterov not a bad man and a specialist, but his wife - a loser. Having accepted her point of view, he withdrew from active life. One day Nesterov is assigned to save the project and sent on a long business trip to the town where he spent his childhood and youth. Nesterov's work is highly praised, and now he is offered to become the chief architect of this town.

Kostya Smagin, a rural tractor driver, was firstly charged with petty hooliganism, but later got caught up in another campaign during perestroika. And his case was blown up almost to a death-penalty case.

Nikolai Kurkov, a Muscovite, worked at a research institute and dreamed of defending his thesis on agrobiology, but when he arrived in one of the villages of the Non-Chernozem region, he met a childhood friend and stayed, heading a lagging collective farm...

Alexander Ivanovich Kirpikov is very popular in his village: only he has a horse, and everyone has vegetable gardens that need to be cultivated. So the villagers are trying to "respect" Kirpikov. But one day, the hardened body of a folk craftsman fails. After another binge, Kirpikov got so sick that he decided to stop drinking out of fright...

The screenplay is based on the short story of the same name by Vil Lipatov. It tells the story of a man with a difficult past who comes to a village in search of happiness, hoping to do good for others to the best of his abilities and talents.
