Lois Ambro has just received some terrible news. The body of her husband, Matin, has been found in the Los Angeles River. She is about to receive some even more startling news! The detectives are at a loss to explain it. The medical examiner has never seen anything like it. The Ambro family has no idea what has happened, how it happened, who did it, or why, and are haunted by the prospect of a murder yet to come! A drama unfolds during a few spring days in a small Swedish town in the 1950s. Guy study hard at school, but wins no appreciation from his father. His brother Helge returns from his job at sea. They hang out at Hempas bar.

The film portrays the Swedish playwright, novelist, poet, essayist and painter August Strindberg's life 1849-1912. Through his extensive correspondence and literary production, from the supposed first work, the drama "The Free Thinker" (1869), to the posthumously published "The Occult Diary" (published 1977 ). But also his three wives, Siri von Essen, Frida Uhl and Harriet Bosse, and the children Karin, Greta and Hans are given space in the film. The unpublished first drama "The Free Thinker", depicts a young man forced to break with family and tradition to follow his conscience and ideals, becomes a prophecy about the author's own life.

Matte and Kranken are best buddies. When they want to go on a cycling holiday in Gotland Matte decides to bring his new girlfriend Lisa with him, despite Krankens objections. Lisa turns out to be much more attractive than Kranken imagined and soon the problems begin to loom over the horizon.
