Who Are You?

Reconstructed from archival documents and historical studies, a chronicle of the 1916 popular uprising in the Hungry Steppe and the Jizzakh Steppe.

It is the story of seven days in the life of the 70-year-old Peter who learns that he has lung sarcoma and that there is a faint hope that in a week the diagnosis may be ruled out by a medical luminary from Moscow. Peter spends the seven days summing up the results of his life which he considers worthless, in which he could not start a family, earn money, save his reputation. But time and again the events in which he becomes involved and which are filled with smiles, sadness, human destinies, let the viewer realize that the protagonist’s life is far from worthless.

Makar Klimov, a young and charming Police Captain, gets exiled from Moscow to a coastal city together with his dog Bim, ostensibly because of his affair with the wife of some Police Department bigwig. Although he gets to live right at the beach, Makar has no time to enjoy the view: his main concern is fighting crime. Smuggling, drug trafficking, prostitution, slave trade are the staple of every port. During the vacation season, they are complemented by robberies and murders. Bim helps Makar any way he can: he chases down criminals, sniffs out drugs hidden in containers. When he gently closes his jaws on a suspect’s hand or another sensitive body part during interrogation, that makes even the most hardened criminals talk. What’s more, the wonder dog even helps Makar in his day-to-day life: he can put laundry in the washer and turn the electric kettle on with his paw.

Russians will survive everywhere. And in the desert, and at the bottom of the sea, and in America. They will learn everything and they can teach the Americans a lot ... For example, how to catch criminals. Russian investigator Andrei Somov fell in love with an American dancer and moved with her to America for permanent residence. He wanted to work in the police, but he was not hired. Therefore, he has to wash dishes, look after the sick, clean, wash, walk other people's dogs, cook. But his dream of becoming a detective is coming true: he becomes the best detective in Los Angeles. Each episode of the film has its own plot.

Nikolay Morozov has been both a revolutionary and a terrorist in his long life. Sentenced to a lifetime of hard labour, he spent 30 years in a tsarist prison. His hair had long turned grey by the time the Second World War broke out, but when he realised his country needed him he volunteered for the army. Nikolay was 87 at the time.

In this TV-series the events of the beginning of the 20th century in Russia are highlighted. Revolutioners, terrorists, spies - and investigator Putilovskii and his team fight them as best they can.

Due to medical formalities the child, who suffers from cancer, is left without painkillers. In utter despair, the girl’s father turns to Liza for help. When Liza cannot find a way to help the child within the system, she decides on a desperate act…
