Elizabeth (Sukumari) has just retired as a college sports coach. Heeding to the suggestions from her students, she starts a beauty parlour with her retirement money. Her son Emil (Rahman) and brother Vakkachan (Nedumudi Venu) assist her in this venture. However things don't start out well early, till the arrival of a skilled beautician Mini (Rohini). Business starts booming, but Emil soon starts getting curious about the mysteries surrounding Mini.

Rathinirvedam

The story takes place in a small village surrounded by hills and valleys. Young Pappu, a teenager, awaiting school results to go to college, has plenty of time on hand. His trouble is adolescence, but neither his mother nor his aunt can diagnose his affliction. Everything around him excites and stimulates his sexual curiosity. Twenty plus Rathi, the girl next door, has been chechi (elder sister) to him since he was a child. Unaware of the stirrings of his desire, she dismisses his first overtures to her as boyish pranks. There is the usual pranks that the boys of the age do, although the movie doesn't just revolve around these.The second half of the movie takes us to scenic locales of Munnar. The second half also introduces the major female character, Molu. The movie centres around the problems faced by them in a hotel in Munnar.

Season

Season is a 1989 Malayalam-language Indian feature film directed Padmarajan, starring Mohanlal and Gavin Packard in lead roles. The film, though a failure at the box office, stands apart because of Padmarajan's story-telling style, unconventional plot and characters, realistic portrayal of drug trade in Kovalam and flawless performance of Mohanlal and is considered now as a cult classic. The story is set in the beautiful locales of Kovalam beach in Kerala and Poojappura Central Prison, Trivandrum. In spite of the film's commercial failure at the time, Season is now considered to be amongst the best revenge thriller classics ever made in Malayalam and Mohanlal's performance in the movie stands apart because of his unconventional style of acting in such a complex plot. The film also showed how narration can be used as a strong tool in storytelling. Many feel that this movie was much ahead of time and if it would have released in late nineties, would have done good business.

Nakshathrangale Kaaval

Nakshathrangale Kaaval is a 1978 Indian Malayalam film adaptation of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award-winning novel of the same name by P. Padmarajan. It is directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan and produced by Hari Pothan and stars Jayabharathi, MG Soman, Sukumari and Adoor Bhasi in the lead roles.
