After buying the filly Dixie following a strong finish Southern horse breeder John Porter discovers she has been doped for the contest. To get back at her, Perry stages his own death in a plane crash, but when Vivian discovers the plane crash was a hoax, she is initially even more enraged. However, after a series of further misadventures, the couple eventually reconciles.
