Having just split up with their respective partners, Maria and Daniel meet in a shop where they argue over a bed. From then on, they keep running into each other in all sorts of strange places and in all sorts of circumstances. He befriends Daniel and peppers him with questions about the strength of his nine-year marriage.

Daniel, a music teacher and pianist, and Ana, a gallery owner, are going through a marital crisis after more than twenty years of living together. Daniel has moved out on his own and wants a divorce. Ana refuses to accept reality.
