The Naitō Shinjuku Family, Japan's oldest yakuza organization with a hereditary tradition, is led by its boss, Gunji Washio (Hitoshi Ozawa). His young son, Taiga (Haruto Ochiai), though only an elementary schooler, spends his days being trained as the heir by senior lieutenant assistant Reiji (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi). However, in stark contrast to his father's wild and daring nature, Taiga is timid and prone to tears, raising doubts about his suitability as the next leader. Amid this uncertainty, Gunji's supposedly deceased younger brother resurfaces and assassinates him, plunging the Naitō Shinjuku Family into crisis. To make matters worse, Taiga is kidnapped by an unknown assailant…

After the death of the 12th-generation boss, Gunji Washio, the Naito Shinjuku Family attempts to rebuild under acting boss Kanemaru (Masaya Kato). However, a clash arises with the underboss, Reiji (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi), who nominates Gunji’s successor, Taiga Washio (Haruto Ochiai), as the 13th-generation boss. This discord fractures the once-unified family. Adding to the chaos, the Tokyo Four Society, which had been held together by Gunji’s absolute leadership, falls into disarray. Shinjuku descends once more into a lawless battlefield of feuding yakuza factions. The conflict between Reiji’s sense of justice and Kanemaru’s vision of leadership traces its origins back to a tragic incident during the era of the 11th-generation boss, Kiryu Washio (Shinzo Horita).

In order to fulfill the fate and great cause of placing his sworn brother, Kiyoharu Washio (Kazuyoshi Ozawa), who had been buried in the darkness until now, as the 12th generation leader of the Naito Shinjuku family, Yuki Kanemaru (Masaya Kato) covered the office with flames and ultimately met his end in self-immolation. Just as he passes away, former 12th generation underling, Hideyoshi Ogami (Norimasa Fujie), is released after serving a long prison sentence. This leads the Naito Shinjuku family into a three-way struggle: Toki Reiji (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) and his faction who support Taiga Washio (Haruto Ochiai) as the 13th generation, the faction led by Akira Shiba (Kunihiko Ida) who seeks to put Seiharu in power and rewrite history, and Ogami’s faction. Finally, the president of the Osaka Namba-kai, Masami Yukimura (Takashi Ukaji), reveals himself, and the story is about to connect to a new bloodline!

As the Naito Shinjuku family’s split conflict deepens into even greater chaos, Reiji Toki (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) is defeated after a battle beyond human understanding with Kiyoharu Washio (Kazuyoshi Ozawa). In this dire situation where Reiji’s life hangs in the balance, a tense atmosphere begins to spread even within the faction supporting Taiga Washio (Haruto Ochiai). Tetsutake Yu (Takashi Kuroishi) grows suspicious of former violent crimes detective Shinichi Akiba (Yasukaze Motomiya) acting alone and locks him up. However, this is part of a scheme by the faction led by Akira Shiba (Kunihiko Ida), who wants to place Seiharu in power and rewrite history. Amidst this turmoil, Hideyoshi Ogami (Norimasa Fujie) steadily strengthens ties with the president of the Osaka Namba-kai, Masami Yukimura (Takashi Ukaji), and the chaotic three-way struggle intensifies!

Detective Ukyo Sugishita confronts crime on the basis of his own convictions. He has a partner that works for him in the Special Task Unit. For the first 7 seasons, Ukyo’s first partner is Kaoru Kameyama. He is a good-natured, hot-tempered, straightforward and somewhat scattered detective. After Muhan fails to kill a young girl during a hitjob, she begins to question her existence.

When a corrupt businessman decides to run for mayor and starts eliminating opponents from the rival mafia, a former police captain serving time for murder is secretly released and put in charge of a special task force to arrest him.

A married ad designer (Meguro) is having an affair with a married woman (Ming). When an ad agency head visits Meguro, it's revealed that he's Ming's husband (Shanwei). Shanwei warns Meguro to not only continue the affair but also record (for Shanwei) and "mentor" Ming in a series of escalating sexual domination/humiliation rituals. If Meguro refuses, Shanwei will disclose the affair to everyone, including Meguro's wife.

Later, Kamen Rider Core begins to destroy the area as Kamen Riders OOO and W team up to fight the enemy. However, Kamen Rider Core proves too powerful and the two go underground to destroy the Gaia Memory’s source of power to even the odds.
