Taxidi Tou Melitos is about the fear that most elderly people experience: approaching death. Leon (Stavros Xenides) and Zaharoula (Betty Livanou) are heading out for their annual vacation at a summer resort. Instead of their usual carefree anticipation, their mood is subdued because their daughter has just married and is off on her honeymoon. Life is lonely without her and the couple cannot avoid the realization that death is not that far away for them. Once at the resort, Leon tries to overcome this nagging fear by taking a wild plunge in the ocean, naked, as he and Zaharoula are out walking on the beach. Taken up in the spirit of the moment, she joins him among the waves. The results, however, are not what they expected.

Thanasis Zevedaios (Thanasis Vengos) has a shop with watches and running but not enough! Time and the clocks have become obsessed after running nonstop in an effort to nourish their relatives. Three students share their dreams for their future after school. Yanna is the moral compass of the film. She wants to work, become financially independent, and then, if she finds the man who speaks to her heart, get married and start a family. Katerina simply wants to get married and take care of her children, and the third member of the group wants to solve her financial problems through a wealthy marriage. She doesn't care about love and romance, she doesn't want children, she wants a life full of "money" even if it means marrying without love. The camera finally focuses on Yanna's life, which seems to be going uphill. Remaining steadfast in her beliefs, she looks for work. When, after a year, she manages to find a job in the offices of a factory, her boss, Mr. Georgiou, makes advances towards her and she seriously injures him.

A sometimes blind and sometimes mute homeless panhandler becomes the pivotal point in a modular story composed of secret love affairs, bittersweet conclusions, the end of an era, and pure hope. How hard is it to find an honest man?

Giorgis is the only son of the richest tseligas of a mountain village. Although he is considered a sought-after groom, he only has eyes for Droso, who reciprocates his feelings. The obstacle to their love is Giorgis' father. He is a cruel usurer who has confiscated the girl's fields. After a fight between father and son, the former falls dead. However, everyone believes that Droso killed him. Droso runs away from the village and takes refuge in the caves and cliffs, among the lads of the robber Zarvas, who helps to uncover Bournova's murderer. The murder has been committed by Maria, a noblewoman in love with Giorgis, who is subsequently arrested by the gendarmerie. Thus, Droso is now free to marry Giorgis.

Antonis is a tough and heartless guy who, after several years in prison, is released and returns home, causing great turmoil in the previously peaceful life of the village. Everyone fears him and avoids any kind of conflict with him for any reason. Tassos, however, who has recently returned from abroad and has a heightened sense of justice, does not hesitate to confront him in order to win Vasso's heart and save her child (from her first marriage), who has been kidnapped by Antonis in order to blackmail her.

Tilemachos has been for many years now engaged to Fofo, who is pressuring him to get married. But he first wants to marry off his sister, who has passed “the usual” age for marriage. Tilemachos is desperate, and he decides to find a husband for his sister by advertising in the newspapers.

A car electrician, Charis, spends all his money on tailors in order to give the appearance of a "lord". He constantly fights with his brother, Vasilis, who is also a day laborer (painter), saddled with all the joint expenses of the house. Charis believes that his looks will someday attract a rich wife and thus change his life and solve all his problems. Martha, however, the wealthy daughter of the shipowner Karapezis, falls in love with and marries his brother Vasilis (after he saved her life) without regard for her father's opinion or Vasilis' lack of money.

A kind-hearted teacher saves a girl from suicide and takes her into his home. However, he is newly married and the next day he leaves with his wife for their honeymoon. On the train, he encounters the same girl. The situation quickly becomes complicated, his wife becomes suspicious, and many misunderstandings arise.

Martha is locked up in a mental hospital by her own husband, who covets her fortune. At some point, however, with the help of her husband's brother, who studied medicine abroad, she escapes and returns home to see her daughter. This creates friction and coldness between the two brothers, resulting in the doctor who showed her genuine affection packing his bags and leaving Greece.
