Residents, police and the municipal government of the Dutch city of Enschede face loss, guilt and responsibility as they grapple with the May 2000 explosion of a fireworks depot that wipes a working-class suburb off the map.

Following the catastrophic crash of a large El Al cargo aircraft into Amsterdam's 'Bijlmer' high-rise district in October 1992, a local young veterinarian and two journalists find themselves drawn into a years-long investigation into the many puzzling questions, about the disaster and its aftermath, the powers that be seem determined to keep unanswered.

Fortunately they have help, not only from Seraf, but also from a precious medallion. Throughout their trip, they discover that they can only achieve their goal if they truly believe in themselves and don't let anybody or anything get in their way.

Lieke and Millad are best friends. Milad land his family have been living in the Netherlands for years. The new academic year for student corps H.S.C. Mercurius with a huge enrollment party. Perpetual student Olivier de Ruyter gets into a minor conflict with the police, who are fed up with the nuisance Mercurius is causing in the neighborhood. Meanwhile, lawyer Bram Wagtmans is nostalgic for student life and decides to go all out with his friends at the club that evening, for the last time. First-year students and best friends Elias and Lieve also attend the party. Lieve is the ideal sorority girl, while Elias is only at the party because he is in love with Lieve. These are the ingredients for an evening that will get completely out of hand.

To celebrate their anniversary, a young urban couple spends a weekend on a rural island, only to find its locals don't take too kindly to strangers.
