The Pastor and the Revolutionary

Inspired by the work of Dráuzio Varella, the Cannes-award-winning series presents the perspective of prison guard Adriano, who lives amidst walls, bars, weapons, and threats.

Twelve people are confined together in an abandoned maximum security prison in the middle of the Amazon forest, and end up having to fight for their lives against unknown creatures and supernatural odds.

Among historical monuments, sculptures, people of different backgrounds and dreams, Edivaldo and Adrine share a journey of recognition and acceptance without imagining that what they live, in fact is the oldest and necessary of the stories: a love story.

2010: Just as the Brazilian government launch a military-assisted siege on one of Rio de Janeiro’s most notorious and criminally-controlled favelas, the identities of four undercover policemen operating in the slum are accidentally leaked.
