Although the background is illness and death, this is a film about life. We follow three young people, Ingunn, Lars and Kristin, all cancer patients, for 15 months. We experience their joys and sorrows, hopes and despair.

Reidar is a resident at Solihøgda psychiatric institution. He is expecting the Earth to be hit by a huge meteor any time now, but until then he is busy trying to keep his fellow patient, Juni, from killing herself.
