The whole world is confident that bears walk the streets in Russia, and the entire population from young to old is drinking vodka from morning to evening. In fairness, we note that Russian people themselves recognize the reputation of inveterate drunkards and are proud of it somewhere. Russian Russian documentarian Alexey Khanyutin made an attempt to analyze the role of vodka in the life of a Russian person.

On a chilly winter morning on December 27, 1922, the steamer "Majestic" departed from the French port of Cherbourg on its way to America. On board was the troupe of the Moscow Art Theatre, led by Konstantin Stanislavsky, who was already a world-renowned theatre director and the creator of the famous system. Our film will tell the story of this historic tour, which marked a significant milestone in the life of this great theatre reformer of the 20th century.

More than a quarter century has passed since the collapse of the Soviet Union. We still feel the contradictory echoes, the echo of this collapse, and, probably, we will feel for a long time. But there is little left that still unites us - former citizens of the former empire, wherever fate brings us - Soviet food, an absolutely unique sociocultural phenomenon of Soviet history and Soviet life.

During the years of socialism, Moscow has turned into a kind of museum - a sort of glyptotek (collection of sculptures) of the Soviet period. But city monuments are not just museum exhibits, they "live" among us on the streets and squares, their fates are closely intertwined with the fates of the city and its inhabitants, with the events taking place at their pedestals. What place does the Soviet monumental heritage occupy in our cultural consciousness and in the space of a modern city?
