The Paper House

An animated film based on one of the renku (collaborative linked poems) in the 1684 collection of the same name by the 17th-century Japanese poet Bashō. The creation of the film followed the traditional collaborative nature of the source material – the visuals for each of the 36 stanzas were independently created by 35 different animators. As well as many Japanese animators, Kawamoto assembled leading names in animation from across the world. Each animator was asked to contribute at least 30 seconds to illustrate their stanza, and most of the sequences are under a minute (Yuriy Norshteyn's, though, is nearly two minutes long).

A stop motion animation unfolds within a labyrinthine place. A mantis is invading the kingdom of ants while witnessing their ritual activities, and getting into the inside of the group.

The second drawing animation I made when I was a student at Musashino Art University.

A stop-motion work in which illustrations were drawn on the surface of a three-dimensional object, such as a regular polyhedron, and filmed as they were replaced. My first three-dimensional animation. (Yuko Asano).

A short animation is drawn on Washi paper and Cel with a marker and anime. Some Kanji ( they are used in the Japanese poem “Iroha Uta”) metamorphose into various creatures.

To commemorate the event "INTO ANIMATION 8", dedicated members of the Japan Animation Association present a completely original new omnibus animation! Each work is exactly 15 seconds long, and the theme, inspired by the number 8 from this 8th edition, is "Infinity ∞".
