To commemorate the event "INTO ANIMATION 8", dedicated members of the Japan Animation Association present a completely original new omnibus animation! Each work is exactly 15 seconds long, and the theme, inspired by the number 8 from this 8th edition, is "Infinity ∞".

The Life of Ants

A stop motion animation unfolds within a labyrinthine place. A mantis is invading the kingdom of ants while witnessing their ritual activities, and getting into the inside of the group.

The Paper House

A very short animation drawn on tracing paper with a brush pen and coloured pencil. “This work was inspired by an impressive dream. In the dream, I took a dictionary that printed flip-books in the corner from a book shelf, and when I returned it, the book had disappeared.”[Yuko Asano]

Flowing Water

A short animation is drawn on Washi paper and Cel with a marker and anime. Some Kanji ( they are used in the Japanese poem “Iroha Uta”) metamorphose into various creatures.

Western Mantra

Regular Polyhedra

A stop-motion work in which illustrations were drawn on the surface of a three-dimensional object, such as a regular polyhedron, and filmed as they were replaced. My first three-dimensional animation. (Yuko Asano).

Daughter of the Moon

In dark trees

Born in Tokyo in 1959. While studying oil painting at Musashino Art University, he joined the animation club "Mysterious Magic Lantern Society" and began creating films. In 1980, he joined the independent film screening group "Animation 80" upon its establishment and has been submitting works every year since then. His works have been exhibited at numerous festivals, including the "Torino International Film Festival" (1986, Turin, Italy), the "Shanghai Animation Festival" (1988, Shanghai, China), and "The Evolution of Animation" (1988, O Museum). His unique worldview blends elegance and grotesqueness, and he continues to explore a wide range of expressive techniques, including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and live-action animation.

Sea Slug Sisters go to Heaven

The Sea Slug Sisters will perform a puppet show "The Tale of Tanabata", using puppets with their figure in a small theatre. (Yuko Asano).

The Garden of Five Fingers

A stop motion animation using several phenakistoscopes of a polyhedron and other materials. Five “Egg birds” appears in the artificial garden.
