Eye of the Storm

This short follows four days in the life of a father and daughter.

What if it were possible to travel back in time to dream of other futures? In the hinterlands of Brazil, young girls navigate the delicate transition from childhood to adolescence while grappling with social media, religion, their dreams, and the stories of the women who came before them. By inventing a time machine, they revisit the pasts of their mothers and grandmothers and imagine a future in which they can be free, fulfilled, and in control of their own choices.

O Pastor e o Guerrilheiro is a Brazilian feature film inspired by a true story, which takes place in the 1960s and 1970s and at the turn of the millennium - in the last days of 1999.

A mother gives her daughter a box full of old, coloured little vinyl records. The daughter may listen to them, but she should never, ever, play the green one.

A young Black artist named Jonas lives in the shadow of his authoritarian brother with whom he shares a house. However, when his upstairs neighbor, Lucia, accepts an invitation to dinner, Jonas begins a journey of personal reflection, confronting his own demons and ghosts and doubting himself.

In order to invent a region, it is necessary to create its culture, preferably with the help of cinema. Inspired by the book and play “A Invenção do Nordeste”, this is a re-editing of Brazilian films essential to the foundation of the Northeastern imaginary.
