Sukumar is misled into investing all his savings in the moviemaking business. However, things take a turn when he ends up debt-ridden and at the mercy of the law.

Mohan is a spoiled young man who wants nothing else in life but to act in stage dramas with his friends. As a result of his carefree behavior, his father ships him off to Madras to work for his friend in hopes that Mohan will learn something in life. Thedi Vandha Mappillai is directed by P.R. Panthulu released in 1970. Pasupathy(Major Sundarrajan)’s boss is shot by an unknown man, but the blame falls on Pasupathy. The surviving boss sends away his wife Parvati and son Shankar in to hiding fearing his family's fate. The rest of story unveils who won in the end, Shankar or the evil forvces.

The police are notified and they are asked to arrest Mohan - they arrest 3 Mohans. Who is the real Mohan?
