A maldição tropical is a short meditation on Portuguese-Brazilian icon Carmen Miranda, by way of the development of Rio de Janeiro.

Tamagotchi_Balé is about affective dystopias, the end of erotic experience, narcissism and algorithms. Following a logic of hyperlinks, which mixes dream narratives, extensive research on neoliberal subjectivity, companion devices, 1990s films and video games, two women try to establish a relationship on green screens of Zoom. The Tamagotchi was born from an alien plant and is the first experience of a relationship with a machine that my generation has experienced.

A hybrid being arises in a forest exploited for its latex and, together with other imaginary and real entities, tries to survive amid the destruction of the world as we know it, clinging to what may exist after its end.

Rio de Janeiro, 2020. The city has been engulfed in flames and its waters are either dried up or contaminated. From the depths of the Earth and from the sky disoriented extra-human beings appears.

In my dreams the screens are made of flesh.

A green, red, or ocher monster can suddenly rise on Vulcano.
