Treasures of Verona

Svitlana, a Russian-speaking Ukrainian, examines the colonised part of her consciousness and tries to find answers to the question of how Soviet totalitarianism and Russification influenced the relationships within her family.

"Mariupol. Reconstruction" is a film about a lost city. Director Svetlana Lischinskaya shares her memories and tells the story of her relationship with the city. She meets with refugees from Mariupol to remember with them what the city was like before it was destroyed by Russian troops

The film tells the stories of three protagonists, which are intertwined in one story about the Master: a rural school pupil who dreams of ballroom dancing – Makar, world champion in ballroom dancing – Alex Ivanets, and his first teacher – Petro Horhol, who lives in a small Ukrainian town of Poltava.

The main character, 36-year-old Polina, is a perfectionist who seeks to arrange her life according to social standards, as a result of which she develops depression. Polina gets a job in a thrift store: it's quiet there, but you have to sell not perfect things to imperfect people. She is faced with a choice: to return to a prestigious job that destroys her, or to stay in an imperfect world and be happy.
