The Last Ones

The Flight

The TV movie "Escape" shows the agony of "white" officers, soldiers and citizens who fled before the October Revolution, pursued by the power of the Red Army, but also by the blood of their own crimes. Composed in several "pictures", it is a kind of ballad about madness and despair, the battle for bare life, but also an elegy about exile, crime and punishment.

Endeavor

A story about a painter, an unconventional university professor, who has to deal with being haunted by his trouble past during the 2nd World War, while at the same time trying to cope with his university colleagues plotting against him.

Black Snow

A group of train travelers get stranded by blizzard. They take shelter in a train station, where each episode focuses on two of the characters.

Marital Travels

Professor Gerasim and assistant Tugomir are in a ski-resort where opportunity for cheating and love is around every corner.

The Advertisement

A TV movie about the lives of two tenants who differ in the way they look at life. After the announcement of a new tenant, the monotony of life in one apartment changed. An old tenant who is calm and withdrawn will have to get used to a new, noisier and more outgoing tenant.

After Laura's husband commits suicide, her lover Ivan Krizovec and her spend a torrid night together.

Maria

On her deathbed, the sister tries to help her brother who, burdened with his poor background, can't figure out his life's directions after completing studies.

Milena from Prague

A TV biopic about the life of Milena Jesenská (1896-1944), a Czech journalist, writer, editor and translator.

The Written Off

Careless lives of few Belgrade youths are shattered when Nazis occupy their town in 1941. Soon they join the resistance movement and their activities bring their names to Gestapo's termination list. This movie inspired the series that would get cult status in former Yugoslavia.

On the Day of Fire

The protagonist, interpreted by Ljuba Tadic, is a scientist in an institute who becomes a victim of the intrigues of his co-workers who took advantage of his once problematic participation in the Chetnik movement during the Second World War.

Amandus

The film is based on a novel by Ivan Tavcar and was adapted for the screen by Andrej Hieng. It is set at the end of the 17th century in the area that is now Slovenia at a time of religious intolerance with Amandus, a Catholic priest, determined to persecute local Protestants.

The Written Off

"The Written Off" is a famous Serbian TV miniseries, that was very popular in former Yugoslavia, originally airing in 1974. Due to its popularity, Radio Television of Serbia has shown reruns of the series ten times, the last re-run starting in 2012. The series has achieved something of a cult status among its audience and still attracts an estimated 3 million viewers with its last rerun. Idea of series derives from exploits of freedom fighters in Belgrade during World War II, and all the characters and events are fictitious.

Dealing with his customers with an open heart a car mechanic named Života goes through many adventures. Some are funny, some are sad, some reveal the beauty and other human misery. (Six episodes in total)

The Written Off Return

Prle and Tihi, being the only surviving members of their resistance group, had been forced to leave Nazi-occupied Belgrade and join Partisans in country. In Summer of 1944 somebody is assassinating resistance sympathizers, and Prle and Tihi must return to Belgrade deal with it. In order to cross through enemy lines, they use cars, clothes and documents of captured pro-Nazi minister. During their journey the minister escapes and warns the Gestapo.

Summer in the South

The story describes a staid and apparently very ordinary Austrian teacher on holiday on the Southern Adriatic coast. The sensation of renewal and refreshment from the sea, sun and salt air is described in physical terms.

Return of the Written Off

In Summer of 1944 Prle and Tihi, young yet veteran resistance fighters, together with Joca, old and moody radio-operator, are sent by Partisans to Belgrade, the Yugoslav capital still under Nazi occupation. As victorious Partisan forces approach, Prle, Tihi and Joca must continue their underground work in order to prepare the city for liberation.
