In Iran, the retired dance teacher Tarlan witnesses her friend Rana's murder by her husband, who is an important government figure. When the police refuse to investigate, Tarlan must decide whether to bow to political pressure or risk her reputation and livelihood in pursuit of justice.

After many years, Ava finds his terminally ill father who is one of the artists who suffered a mental breakdown in the eighties when the revolutionary extremists harassed artists and most of the art activities especially music were banned. Ava, an artist with a great voice, faces the same challenges as a woman.

An old man is collecting the bodies of the dead in the fighting between the local parties and believes that everyone is the same and fighting for the same purpose.
