Shugaley

Russian sociologist Maxim Shugaley and his translator colleague Samer Sueifan are still being held in a Libyan prison. For more than a year, they have been subjected to torture and psychological violence on a daily basis. While in custody, Maxim Shugaley encounters various people who turn out to be, sometimes unknowingly, sources of information about the situation in Tripoli. Listening to their stories, the sociologist literally collects valuable information bit by bit, which can be decisive for the entire world community.

Maxim Shugaley and Samer Sueifan are finally returning to Russia after a long captivity in the Libyan prison "Mitiga". A few months later, a former bank manager in Tripoli, Farid, comes to Shugalei and offers to meet in Egypt — he has new information about terrorists in Libya. But the meeting of friends in Cairo will not take place. To help Farid avoid his own fate, Maxim will have to postpone his plans for a while…

Marina (Alyona Babenko) is a journalist contemplating retiring, bored of writing stories of serial killers and murders that are front page news one day, and then are quickly forgotten the next. At a large house a lawyer is holed up, police are in the front garden, snipers on the roof and the lawyer asks for Marina. She’s a little surprised by this as she and the lawyer have only crossed paths a few times during her career, but agrees to go to the lawyers house. Arriving at the house she’s confronted by the large police presence, she’s given a quick debrief of the situation and requested not to go into the house. She declines and enters the house. Just inside the front door is the lawyers wife, she tell Marina that he’s lost it and locked the children in their rooms and that he’s going to kill them all.

Three young people find themselves stranded in the taiga without any means of subsistence and, most importantly, without "vint"—a drug without which they cannot imagine their lives. This forced journey through the taiga becomes for each of them a struggle to overcome the terrible power of "vint," to overcome their hatred of life, their past, and themselves... Only one of the heroes manages to emerge from this ordeal. The taiga took away from him the most precious things – his friends and his faith in his father – but gave him something else in return: a new life. Without vint.

Maria Kirillova becomes the editor-in-chief of the international NRM TV channel, and Maxim Potapov, an experienced journalist, heads the bureau in the Middle East. In Libya, Potapov witnesses the death of Gaddafi's family during a NATO strike, and later he begins investigating the disappearance of a Turkish journalist.

Marshal Vasilevsky holds a meeting at the headquarters of the Red Army, demanding the liquidation of the Japanese chemical plant in Manchuria and to prevent the explosion of dangerous weapons depots. An echelon of soldiers arrives at the Far Eastern station, including a reconnaissance platoon, which will have to find the plant. The platoon includes Sergeant San Lee, nicknamed Sanya, and his colleague Kuzmin, a former student at the Institute of Oriental Languages. To get information about the location of the plant, the scouts need to get to Harbin and establish contact with the Soviet agent Rybak.
