Four Bottles

John is agoraphobic and hasn't left his apartment in over two years. After his therapist quits on him, a new therapist challenges him to leave his apartment in the next thirty days.

Darlene, a single mom and flat-broke chambermaid in a ramshackle Carson City, NV hotel receives a quarter for a tip. "A lousy quarter", she says. As she's soon to find out, both it and she are lousy...with luck.

Liz has not left her Berlin apartment in over a year due to agoraphobia, panic attacks, and recurring nightmares. Afraid of the world outside, she has turned her four walls into both a safe space and a prison. When a wedding invitation from her former best friend arrives, she gives therapy one more shot, setting herself the goal of stepping outside within 30 days. Guided by the unconventional Dr. Sommer, who blends exposure therapy with video self-taping, she faces small triumphs – rewarding herself with designer dresses – and setbacks that nearly push her over the edge.
