The film Rolex Time was made especially for the exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Luzern. The title creates a tongue-in-cheek link between Uganda and Switzerland: "Rolex" is also an abbreviation of "rolled eggs" and refers to a well-known Ugandan street food dish-an omelette wrapped in a chapati. In the film, the dish is called "commando food" meaning the food of the people in the slums. The film is about, among other things, criminals who grew up as street children, and a Swiss tourist who walks straight into their clutches.

In this Wakaliga Uganda story about human trafficking, a German football player and his wife search for their missing son.

Interspersed with commentary from community elders, spiritual healers, and museum tour guides, the film follows news coverage of a mysterious killer whose behaviour matches oral histories of a warrior-god. As events escalate to involve Uganda’s First Lady, the response from the president and military draws a contemporary society into confrontation with the spirit of one of its ancestors.

A cannibalistic/zombesque film made by simple, genuine people who live in a place where cannibalism is still practiced and where the living dead, for the natives of the place, are part of their beliefs, their folklore.
