The Education

It all starts on a subway with an unexpected meeting between Hyeon-sik and Ji-yeon. Ji-yeon claims their world is a fabrication—a literal stage set. She speaks of "errors,"strange glitches where time seems to loop and people freeze in their tracks like broken dolls. Amidst this programmed reality, only the "Trumans" possess true agency. As Ji-yeon continues her lonely crusade to find others like her, she leaves Hyeon-sik with a haunting question: "Are you one of the Trumans?"

Three women in their late 30s recall their memories of their late 20s in Paris. They try to speak them out in French for a while, and it makes their conversation much more ingenious. Two men meeting at a park talk about their bygone relationship while they just throw seem-to-be meaningless questions at each other. One man and one woman somehow argue in a café. Then they start to play Truth or Dare with what happened last night.

Mioka, a Korean-American adoptee, has attempted to find her birth family multiple times but failed. During her journey, she discovers ‘Banet,‘ a group of Korean women who help adoptees find and reunite with their birth families. Banet supports Mioka in finding her family based on her adoption documents, and as the journey goes on, they figure out that there is a chance that the documents were fabricated.
