At the beginning of the 19th century, Japan was under a policy of national isolation. A group of Dutch scholars who wanted to open the country secretly completed a copy of a map of Japan under shogunate control. They sent a young Dutch scholar, Michi-an, as a secret envoy to deliver the copy of the map to the Dutch. Michi-an, hiding himself and making his way through the deserted winter mountains, but the mountain guardians, led by Takayama, had begun hunting in the mountains with a description of Michi-an's appearance arranged by the shogunate.

An art center located in Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Ume Nakazono, a freshman at university, participates in a workshop called “DNA Encyclopedia of Yamaguchi” as an intern. A short length work by revered critic and theorist Shiguéhiko Hasumi and Shô Miyake, editing together John Ford's thematic system of “throwing” across many of his films. Edited according to which and how much each throwing scene was written about in Hasumi’s John Ford book, this film serves as a definitive version of a collage film initially created by Shinji Aoyama ten years ago. Aoyama, who passed away in March 2022, never saw the completion of his teacher’s book. Recognizing this, Hasumi recommended that Shô Miyake create a definitive version of the collage film, allowing him total creative freedom within a 60-minute runtime limit.
