Hot Spring Doctress

In this Japanese retelling of Cinderella, Okuro (Takayama) is the unfortunate stepdaughter of a family of tanuki: shape-shifting raccoon dogs. She hopes to see the tanuki prince (former Takarazuka star Miyagi) against her stepmother's wishes; the magical spirit of the willow tree, and a hapless kappa (water goblin) intercede in unexpected ways.

Adaptation of Junichiro Tanizaki's novel whit the same name. It is perversely erotic relationship between a young salaryman and his teenage wife whom he 'adopted' at first as to 'train' her to be his idealistic modern woman.

At a long-established katsuobushi wholesaler in Nihonbashi, the second-generation president leaves operations to the capable young manager raised within the family. The manager and the president’s daughter bicker constantly, masking unresolved feelings. Before long, Okuro and the Prince fell in love with each other...
