Twins Adam and Eva are so alike, it is impossible to tell them apart, which enables the malicious Eva to get away with all sorts of naughty tricks and leave the blame to fall on Adam. The pair grows up and Adam decides to pay Eva back for the tricks she played on him in the past. When he discovers that the handsome Dr. Prokop Novotný is interested in Eva, he dresses up as Eva and startles the suitor.

Woman concert star seeks to connect with her adult daughter, by her former marriage to a staid industrialist who has kept the two apart since the girl was very small, and receives inadvertent help from the industrialist's just-fired employee who has fallen in love with the girl.

Lieutenant Orloff, a recently graduated Russian officier, is making his way across the snow-covered steppes to the garrison where he is to be stationed. He comes across a man who has lost his way in the blizzard and takes him to the safety of an inn. Czech-American professor Johny Novák takes over his father's inheritance. The estate reveals that Johny is the father of a girl who lives with her mother Helena Strnadová in Prague, where Johny had stayed eighteen years earlier. Johny's father did not approve of his love and so he withheld Helen's letters, but he sent money to Helen's aunt for the child. Johny intends to visit Helen and her daughter with his friend Jimmy Sládek and informs his aunt about it by telegraph...

Factory owner Dvorský also faces his own share of life's troubles; the supply of kaolin for his factory is running dangerously low. Mayor Pivoňka’s wife is willing to sell her kaolin fields, but only on the condition that Dvorský marries her daughter, Táňa—who, however, has no desire to marry a widower with a four-year-old son. Mrs. Lexová also owns kaolin deposits. Dvorský organizes a puppet show at his villa for his ailing young son. During the night, little Mirek wakes up and goes to the theater to look for a princess puppet; tragically, he accidentally sets the curtain on fire with a candle, and the theater burns down.

The orphan Eliška Irovská, nicknamed Líza, arrives in her native village of Ptačice. As an orphan she is housed in the local poorhouse and has to go out begging. Her guardian Petr Tumlíř, however, sees that she is competent enough to go to school.

Folk song collector Dr. Šerk arrives in the remote village of Lesov. He is enchanted by the singing of sixteen-year-old Madla Satranová and he records her songs for radio broadcast. Šerk's friend, composer Jaroslav Klán, takes care of a group of orphans, from whom he has formed a choir. Šerk brings the orphaned Madla to him. The teenage girl begins to help the housewife Nána with the care of the children.

Student Jarek Pšenička worries teachers and parents in this Czech comedy. He is in his second year of sixth form and is facing another re-examination. His sister Věra is the exact opposite of her brother: she is a model student. But she also cannot avoid trouble - she falls hopelessly in love with Jarek's home tutor, a candidate for professorship, Stáni Mařík...

Country girl Pepina sometimes misses her boyfriend Ferd. He works for the detective company "Bdělá soůva" in Prague. Pepina takes the opportunity to visit Ferd when the filmmakers offer her to go with them. However, they accidentally run her over on the outskirts of Prague. Pepina is unfamiliar with Prague and just by chance gets lost in the theater where Ferd is on duty...

Zdenka Sulanová has grown from a leggy frog into an attractive young lady in the two years since the success of Líza's Flight to Heaven. It is no wonder that Václav Binovec decided to guide her through the further pitfalls of the life of the orphan Líza, who comes to a monastery boarding school to gradually win the heart of a strict teacher, her classmates, and finally the man who caught her eye at first sight. Of course, it will not be easy and Líza will have to shed a few secret tears, show vitality and a willingness to fight for her happiness. Then even the viewers of this typical First Republic girl's romance can conclude with emotion that the world is not so bad after all, when a poor girl can achieve success in it through diligence and hard work.
