Jakob Yzermans is an American salesman looking for his roots in Rotterdam. He thinks his father (Hendrik Yzermans) has left Holland with the money he took from his collegues. Jakob is trying to get the money together to repay the money. While doing so he encounters more and more problems.

The film is about researcher Victor Dreissen. At his research institute, he discovers songs from Drenthe dating back to the beginning of the last century. These songs are special. They are about crimes that were committed and never solved. One song in particular captivates Victor Dreissen. He falls in love with the voice in the song and travels to Drenthe in search of its origins and background. He does not yet know that anyone who wants to sing or pursue these songs will never return.

Filmic registration of the seasons on two square kilometres of the Rotterdam Kop van Zuid district, where you can find all big city contradictions and developments. Old areas with their characteristic inhabitants, old and new, spectacular new buildings in deserted harbour sites.

After an inventor makes a breakthrough, he leaves his incapable assistant alone with his new wonder invention, which leads to wealth, love...and catastrophe!

Filmmaker André van der Hout made an intimate film portrait about Dutch musical comedian, poet, thinker and drinker Kees Torn, who stopped performing in 2012.

Based on inside interviews, a picture is painted of one of the most discussed government teams in the Netherlands: the Den Uyl cabinet between 1973 and 1977.
