Her mother had advised her to marry to acquire respectability and material comfort, the obedient little girl married a successful Catholic writer a few years later, giving her two beautiful children, a spacious house, a few servants, and glittering social evenings. But in her thirties, Rose can no longer fall asleep at the side of her husband, who is imperturbably indifferent to her charms and neglects her, to develop, with more attentive ears, endless considerations on divine values in this world. So, in the evening, the young woman lets herself be drawn into pleasantly equivocal reveries. And if the day finds her repentant at the feet of her confessor, the night lurks again with its temptations and the virile torso of a handsome groom straight out of "Lady Chatterley's Lover", one of her clandestine reads.

The Madman

Two young delinquents run away from a reformatory, across France with a front-wheel drive (Citroën) and live on thefts made here and there in a very crazy way...the police are on their heels, love for one of them is on their way, but so is the drama.

Julien, a small thief on the run, to be housed and fed visually in prison, robbed a large jewelry store. Against all expectations, the coup succeeds. Julien finds himself in possession of high-value jewelry that is impossible to sell. Lolotte, his companion who had left him, returns opportunely for better or for worse. Julien, along with Steff, a taxi driver met by chance, Charlotte and Clotilde sets out to find a concealer.

The Girl's Dead, Man

A young couple discover an ancient book in the attic and start reading the story of the Malemort family: a sombre household set in the nineteenth century in rural France. The old man Deroze plays his violin and tries to seduce the maid. His elder daughter Maxime "qui tue les mouches et deguste en cachette des fruits juteux". Underneath her bourgeois facade her senses are not yet put to rest. There is the rest of this upstairs/downstairs family who is visited by a sea captain who learns of a hidden treasure The storyline of this adult fairy tale is less important than the cinematography and the lyric fairy tale atmosphere that surrounds this movie. A little masterpiece still to be rediscovered.
