Roberto is a retired man who lives alone and rents a room in his house to a young student, Carmen, who soon begins to fascinate him; he spreads the joy of his new life to Carlos, an even older friend than him, who also decides to rent a room to another young girl, Sonia, who aspires to be a soccer player despite her dissolute life.

Aitor is a director making a film about a lonely man looking for love, called “Soul Ache.” While he uses his auditions to meet women, he really longs to cast actress Myriam Mezieres in the film.

Eight people eager to change the course of their lives come together in a castle to take part in a personal improvement seminar. When the seminar is not as big as planned, the members get to know each other very quickly. Their interactions help them to understand their individuality and show the others who they really are.

Lazarus is a Cuban appeal that makes a living in Madrid. When his girlfriend Dolores travels from Cuba to Spain to live with him, he is in prison for kidnapping and attempted rape. Miguel is Carlos' son, he did not know his mother, he has a sentimental relationship with Julio and both want to be parents with a couple of lesbian friends.

Ulysses hears strange siren songs that draw him away from home. Meanwhile, Penelope and their son Telemachus unconditionally await Ulysses’ return. Suitors throng to woo Penelope but she delays by weaving poems during the day and unweaving them at night.
