During the Nazi regime in France in World War II, Pastor Fontaine and the town of Chambon undertake a mission to protect and shelter the children of many of the Jews sent to concentration camps.

While playing football, two children stumble across the grave of a French WWI infantryman who died in the trenches in 1918. His name was Pierre Delpeuch and in the last days of his life he and his comrades shared an extraordinary human adventure. Exhausted, cut off from the front, huddled in their trench, Pierre and four others bravely stood firm. Facing them was another trench containing five similar exhausted and determined Germans. Their only aim was to resist, whatever the cost, until reinforcements arrived.

On the eve of the First World War, the inhabitants of a small village in Corrèze see a strange woman arrive: Cécile Brunie, a young teacher with original methods. Badly perceived from the beginning, the young woman tries as best she can to gather a whole class because since always the children are sent to the farm from their youngest age without being able to go to school. However, Cécile does not give up and decides to fight against ignorance.

In 1919 in Corrèze, in the small village of Saint-Roch, women are fighting against the desertification of the countryside and the lack of men during and after World War I.

The life of a small group of teenagers in a small 1961 French boarding school. In French Savoie, Pierre Hautefort, a literature teacher, is head of the Beauregard school, located in the mountains. The Widows' Clan is a play written by Ginette Garcin, premiered in 1989 at the Théâtre Municipal de Charenton and repeated in 1990 at the Théâtre Fontaine. It will be recorded for television and broadcast on Antenna 2 in 1992. Jacky and Marcelle, already widows for several years, console Rose whose husband has just died in the toilet: he has been flushed on the head. All three form the clan of widows and tell each other, in spicy secrets, their past couple life. Rose soon learns of the existence of Mireille, the mistress of her late husband, and of her two daughters Jeanne and Jeanine. All these little people obviously come to claim their share of inheritance. Rose goes from surprise to surprise, supported with humor by her two friends, until the final scene where the doorbell rings: a little boy (voiceover) brings back a pair of gloves found in the street, Rose asks her name , his name is Jacques Stelman, like her late husband!
