Julien Schulmann is a comedian. He has just lost his father, a Polish Jew and extermination camp survivor. Before he died, his father left a "will" in which he requested that his other son, Pierre, who hasn't been heard from for two years, spread his ashes in Poland. His father's preference comes as a rude shock for Julien, and it opens a chasm inside him, slowly bringing to light an unspeakable secret.

On November 17, 2012, Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard joined the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra for a performance of Arthur Honegger’s oratorio Joan of Arc at the Stake (Jeanne d'Arc au Bûcher) at the L'Auditori de Barcelona in Spain, broadcast live on Medici.tv. By Swiss composer Arthur Honegger, Jeanne d'Arc au Bûcher (1938) is an imposing oratorio. The libretto is a highly original creation by French poet and playwright Paul Claudel, who dramatises the last moments of the martyr's life. Originally written for actress Ida Rubinstein, the oratorio is written as a flashback in which Joan recalls her life, just before she dies. Honegger creates visually evocative ambiances and fills the orchestra with new sounds (saxophones, ondes Martenot). The initial prologue to the piece was added in 1944 as a symbol of the resistance during the Nazi occupation of France: again, Joan goes beyond her own story.

Despite his fame, Taillandier has suddenly stopped painting. Deeply depressed, the sixty-year-old decides to go away. He has no clear goal and explains nothing to his close friends. During his travels, he has a strange encounter with Marylou, a wild teenager who was rejected by her mother. The lost girl and the man at the end of his tether will travel together awhile. Finally living like a father and daughter, at peace.

The incredible house of Pierre Loti (1850-1923) in Rochefort will reopen to the public in June 2025. This is an opportunity to look back on the romantic life of one of the most widely read and translated authors of his time. The writer-officer, who joined the navy at the age of 17, traveled around the world as his assignments took him. Through his literary work, he built a sensitive memory of the diversity of cultures at the turn of the 20th century, questioning the major geopolitical upheavals of his time. The film draws heavily on Loti's own words, combined with a collection of rare archives from the period.

Subversive hero or vile predator? Don Juan has appeared throughout history in many guises. Macha Makeïeff highlights the psychological and societal aspects of the character: desire, domination, and human darkness, which she contrasts with liberating and destructive laughter.
