One day, six-year-old Alyosha made friends with his uncle Vitya, an avid hunter, who promised to take the boy hunting in the fall. From then on, Alyosha waited for autumn to come and prepared seriously for the hunt. But Uncle Vitya forgot his promise. When hunting season arrived and Alyosha realized he had been deceived, he shared his disappointment with his parents—and his father did everything he could to make the hunt happen.

About the Karabanovs, who continued the work of educator A.S. Makarenko. The 1930s. A tragic accident cut short the life of the Karabanovs' three-year-old son. After what happened, Semyon Afanasyevich and Galina Konstantinovna came to work at an orphanage in the Ukrainian village of Chereshenki. Children from many different places gathered here. The evil wizard Black Whirlwind steals the herd of a shepherd boy named Andriesh along with his faithful dog Lupar. Andriesh sets off to rescue them. On the way, he receives a magical flute as a gift, which helps him find his way to the wizard's castle — and comes to the aid of Black Whirlwind's numerous victims, who have long suffered from the tyrant's misdeeds.
