Documentary about Babak Bayat (Persian: بابک بیات)(13 June 1946 – 26 November 2006). Babak Bayat was an Iranian songwriter and film score composer. He was repeatedly nominated for the Crystal Simorgh award in the field of the soundtrack at the Fajr Film Festival and received this award twice in 1991 and 1997.

Set against the stunning landscape of rural Iran, Shirak is a symbolic rural drama centered on a young boy who lives in a small agricultural village that is being terrorized by wild boars. When his father is mauled to death by the boars during an attack on one of the village fields, Shirak suddenly finds himself the head of the household. Determined to hunt down the dangerous animals and kill them, he picks dates in order to be able to purchase a watchdog from one of the local villagers. Together, Shirak and his dog confront the beasts when they attack the village.

The boys of the neighborhood are dividing into two groups to run a kite. The first groups are watching the kite happily but the other group try to take it down. The kite is flew away but the sorrow of that only leads the boys of the two groups to befriend each other.

Just a few hours to his wedding, Amir, a lad from the south of Tehran, receives a call from his closest friend Habib who insist on meeting him to speak about an urgent issue. He rushes to Habib's works place and there listens to Habib's devastating claim that his future wife is not the sexually innocent girl he believed. In a mixture of rage and bafflement, he takes the bride to the wedding place and then departs to reveal the truth about her past. At the same time, a guy named Nekooyi, the owner of a broken company gets stabbed by his friend who seems to have an affair with his wife, Nasim. Seven friends promise to meet each other in the future. On the promised day all come except Ramin who is now a lawyer working for a company. He is in danger so sends his wife instead and has hides himself in some unknown place. One of his friends Ali who is now a police decides to help him.

Tehran, 1948. A young Jewish couple, Danial and his wife Munes, decide to immigrate to the recently founded state of Israel. But their application is rejected on the ground of the documents against Danial's uncle, Yaghub, how is suspected of betrayal. A Zionist agent, named Yezghel, finds out Yaghub's home and stabs him. One of Yaghub's neighbours who witnesses the crime is blamed for murder. Fearing for their lives, Munes and Danial escape to the north of Iran in order to leave the country. The Neighbour's brother, Nuri, a journalist, sets off on their heels to bring them to the court to give testimony on his brother's innocence.

Reza, the veteran worker of a print house whose sight is adversely affected because of his job, loses his mother. Finding the gloom reigning over the home beyond bearing, he departs to overcome his sorrows. He ends up at a hostel where he shares his room with a southern guy called Ahmad who has a group of orphan war-stricken children under his wing. After the initial inkling gives way to the friendship, Reza discovers that Ahmad's patron plies his trade in black-market. At the same time, Reza's sister is constantly beaten and humiliated by her husband for being infertile.

Reza and Sadegh-Khan are old friends who are engaged in shady deeds. The next day after his wedding, Reza is arrested hauling the dead body of one of his friends. He is sentenced to jail. Years later, freed from the prison, he is now settled in a little town. A letter arrives from Sadegh to invite him back to the capital city in order to attend his son's wedding.

When Amir learns that the woman who is to marry his younger brother Reza is having an affair with another man, he murders her to restore his family's good name. Considering the killing to be a matter of honor, Amir stoically goes to prison for 12 years where his fellow inmates regard him as a hero. But when he is released, he discovers that the Iran he knew has changed.

During the Islamic revolution a SAVAK member Amani marries a woman her name Laleh. Laleh is a doctor and helps the injures of the revolution. Her brother is too involved in the revolution.
