The Last Cold Days

A story about two friends-pilots who despite of having a bit of trouble with luck don't give up on hope & optimism.

An English company is developing a gold deposit. Its representative, Allan Kane, is trying to hide some of the gold and take it abroad. In pursuit of the golden caravan, an unthinkable deadly battle unfolds.

The events of a dynamic, action-packed film take place in the 20s. The main character of the picture is the red commander Rude, a man unrestrainedly brave, courageous and devoted to his work. His opponent is the cunning, insidious and elusive ataman Kudre. Tracking down his gang, Hamit at some point falls into a trap himself and becomes a prisoner of the chieftain.

The director and choreographer from Prague are preparing a show performance "Oriental Fairy Tale" - a ballet on ice with the participation of vocal and instrumental ensembles and pop singers. They are shooting their picture in Kazakhstan at the Medeo high-altitude skating rink.

So they've been together for forty years. And maybe even more. Shorty also has two restless friends: Baybet and Saskebai, who were once in love with Kulpash. And then one day…

The film takes place near the border outpost "Red Stones". Three guys: the grandson of a herdsman, his cousin, who came on vacation from the city and the daughter of the head of the frontier post, met by chance in the Kazakh border steppes, where they spent time playing games. But when the real danger comes to replace the games, the guys proved to be real border guards.

The writer Bektas-agha, arriving in his native village, remembers his childhood: his mother died early, his careless father, who married the beautiful Kulimbala, the teacher Sagatbai. It was a time of collectivization. Bai and his henchmen, playing on the feelings of people expecting hunger, persuaded the collective farmers to barytma — stealing the herd from the neighbors. The members of the cell offered to punish all the perpetrators, but they made up the majority of the residents of the village. The teacher convinced that it is impossible to punish the people for their darkness, it is necessary to find the instigators. So, overcoming their illiteracy, the resistance of the Bay bandits, the collective farmers gradually improved their lives.
