Who Are You, Horseman?

Romantic love story of Russian physician Gusev and Japanese woman Keiko takes place in time of fighting of Russian and Japanese scientists against poliomyelitis epidemic broken out in Japan in 1959.

1944. To provide aid to the famine-stricken regions of liberated Donbass, it was decided to drive cattle from Kazakhstan. This story tells how a group of livestock handlers took upon themselves a human and civic duty to undertake a long and extremely difficult journey along the roads of a war that was not yet fully over.

The first post-revolutionary years in Kazakhstan, the period of formation of Soviet power. More than once, the bandits tried to deal with the singer of the people, the poet Erken, but could not silence him. It seemed that the earth itself kept him safe — he found shelter and help in the homes of the poor, escaped from prison, on the instructions of the Bolshevik committee, under the guise of a tramp, made his way to the south, explaining everywhere the advantages of Soviet power for the people. Erken carried his love for Aklima through his whole life. Having met her once in one of the villages, he could not forget a young woman whose fate was tragic.

Fifth-grader Murat Batyrbaev grew up like a mama's boy, was often sick, was weak and indecisive. At school he got straight C grades and avoided physical education classes. One day, while skipping another lesson, he met a new student in the class, whose father was appointed a physical education teacher at their school. The friendship between Murat and Zhenard helps the boy to believe in himself, overcome his fears, enroll in the boxing section and win school competitions...

The film takes place in 1926 on the southern borders of Kazakhstan. An OGPU search detachment, led by an experienced commander Kasymov, is tasked with neutralizing a gang of Basmachi who have secretly crossed the border.

The film is dedicated to the life of a modern village, raises current problems of agriculture.
