Rosario, Tirana, actress of the late eighteenth century, enjoys the protection of the Duke of Fornells, Chief Justice of the Kingdom, which paves for the actress the way to fame on stage at the Prince theater. The secret love of Rosario, the Earl of San Esteban dies in a duel with Fornells and its position is occupied by the bullfighter Costillares.

In order to get María Rosa, the woman he is deeply in love with, Marsal murders a moneylender hated by all the people and casts suspicion on his friend Andrés, the husband of his beloved María Rosa. After being imprisoned Andrés, Marsal becomes the protector of María Rosa while waiting for the development of events.

In order to prepare for her role as a certain well-known actress, a young woman has lengthy conversations with three different actresses who were good friends with the famous star. Emerging from these conversations are three equally different versions of the past and the events that shaped their lives and careers. This cinematic adaptation of a theatrical work is true to the original, but does not stray far from a theatrical rendering of the story.

After being fired from his company, Pablo meets his friend Ana, who introduce him to Pedro Ramírez, an undesirable lawyer, who offers him 15,000 pesetas for reports about his ex-company with the intention of doing a rob. When the lawyer's gang goes to give the coup, Ana reports them to the police, with the idea of taking the loot and fleeing with Pablo. But all of them are arrested and end up together in prison, where the intrigues and skirmishes between them will continue.

The film depicts ten years of Catalan history, from 1899 with the defeat of the Spanish side in the Cuban War of Independence to the Tragic Week 1909.

Ignacio, a professional footballer, has sentimental and labor problems. Oedipal fantasies and a lad's natural curiosity about sex and death mix with his search for his mother's nature and his father's fate. Will Fando survive the search?
