Susanne Brink's Arirang

A young Korean-American accidently kills someone and spends the next 7 years in prison. When released, she joins up with a middle-aged Korean man looking for his wife and an illegal immigrant on the run. Together they travel to Lake Tahoe and find redemption along the way.

A couple fall deeply in love. Unfortunately, they are both already married to other people. The resulting affair leads to the man losing his job. Both divorce their spouses, but while travelling together, they decide that the only way for them to be perfectly happy is for them to commit double suicide.

A woman decides to take revenge for the violence she has witnessed towards other women. She chooses a movie star as her target because of his high profile and because he is adored by young women. She kidnaps him and holds him prisoner in her apartment.

This youth melodrama tells the story of a law student from a small village in Korea, and the irresponsible girl with whom he falls in love. The girl leads a reckless life, working in bars in Itaewon, and in the U.S., while the law student follows her. Their relationship ends in tragedy with the man shooting the woman, and her confessing her true love before dying.

Directed by Jang Kil-soo, the film revolves around a boy and his younger sister, who live in poverty yet in a pure and innocent way. A boy named Nan-na lives with his grandmother in a remote village near the ocean. But when he turns four, his life gets tougher as he has a baby sister Ok-yi and all the affection he received starts going toward the baby. The free spirited boy, who behaved as he liked, now has to take care of his sister, and he has no choice but to start hating her and teasing her. But for Ok-yi, Nan-na is the best in the world.

Soldiers with the U.N. forces that entered Korea during the Korean War rape a village girl named Eon-rae. The villagers ostracize Eon-rae and her son. Unable to make a living, Eon-rae joins the brothel district that has been set up near the U.N. base on the other side of the river from the village. The war and the introduction of U.S. culture break down the social order of the village. After several village children have died, the villagers put the blame on the prostitutes. Eventually the villagers, unable to maintain the village, leave their homes one by one. Eon-rae and her son also leave

Hi-won is a news reporter for a magazine. She runs into Min Seung-wu who was once her lover when she was a teacher. Hi-won is attracted by Seung-wu's charm but her parents do not approve of their relationship for his past of misfortune having grown up an orphan. She is proposed to marry Song Yun-sik whom she was fixed up by a matchmaker but that only assures her of her love for Seung-wu. Seung-wu decides to move to France for her sake and for his family, cherishing his memory of the time they spent together on the night of his farewell party. As he heads to the airport, she marries an ordinary man.

A second-generation Korean-American woman, Jisoo, leaves her medical studies to pursue acting in New York. After experiencing trauma and alienation in LA’s vibrant but harsh subcultures: including scenes involving drug use and body art; she returns to her immigrant family’s life near Western Avenue. Her return coincides with the Rodney King riots, forcing her to confront identity, belonging, and the fragile ties between her American experiences and her Korean heritage.
