Children of Don Quixote

Bolshevik Foma Korshunov returns to his village. Soon his son, seven-year old Mishka gets a new nickname - "little communist". When bandits come to the village Mishka, knowing that the reds are close, saddles his horse and hurry to warn them about the danger.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

The first story line of the movie follows two Red Army soldiers: unlikely friends Nekrasov and Karyakin. The movie takes place in the first years after the Bolshevik coup in Donbas. Bandits blow up the bridge that carries ore to the blast furnace, the director of the plant is seriously wounded. The workers unanimously elect Ivan Klyavin, a mining foreman, as acting director. In search of the missing train with bread Klyavin gets to Petrograd. Here the hero meets Lenin. Returning to the factory, Klyavin reads to the workers a letter from the leader of the party. Enemies kill Klyavin, but are no longer able to prevent the factory workers from successfully overcoming the devastation.

Yasha Toporkov is in love with a cheerful girl Marishka. He is young, happy and satisfied with life — Marishka recently became his fiancee. Yasha is also happy with his work. Everyone knows Toporkov at the construction site: his team came out on top. And Yasha had long forgotten about the "left outfit" for which the foreman had given him extra money. Nevertheless, it is precisely because of this that an accident occurs at the construction site, a welder is killed, and the site foreman Mirzoyan is removed from leadership.
