A pugilist sprains his ankle during a street brawl and is taken care of by a girl who loves him. Believing her love is returned, she makes preparations for their marriage. Deserting the girl at the altar, the fighter realizes his love for the girl when her vision appears to him, while down for the count in the ring, and this enables him to win the battle.

As her first wedding anniversary approaches, a young wife begins to believe that her husband doesn't love her anymore, and she turns to a former suitor for comfort. Soon she makes up her mind to leave her husband, but when he is seriously injured she must decide if she really wants to end her marriage.

Nicky Nelson is a fast-talking sideshow barker with a wax-and-alive concession on Atlantic City's boardwalk. She gives him a ring to help finance the project; he promptly loses it in a crap-game.
