Victor and Elena are newlyweds and lead a busy social life. Si Dios Me Quita La Vida is a telenovela made by Mexican TV network Televisa. This telenovela was broadcast in 1995. This is a remake of the 1961 telenovela La Leona starred by Amparo Rivelles and Ernesto Alonso.

Much of the movie is filmed using hand-held cameras, and the majority of the dialogue is in the difficult-to-understand and very slangy Spanish dialect of Mexico City's bricklayers.
