Based on the drama by Wolfgang Bauer. Fery Kaltenböck is a painter of the Viennese avant-garde in the post-1968 milieu. His lack of success plunges him into depression. Out of frustration, he builds the Pölten painter Blasius Okopenko into a star, only to subsequently destroy him and gain fame through the scandal. But his plans fail because he underestimated Okopenko. When Kaltenböck realizes that he is becoming the manipulated man, depression and conscience drive him to suicide, and he hangs himself.

A new opera star burns Andreas's heart and he knows that only she can be the real Sissi in the opera he is preparing, but for him there is no other woman but his wife...

The film depicts the conflicts that arise during the flight, but also in South America, where perpetrators and victims meet again. The main characters of the film, he a murderer, she a survivor of Nazi terror, help each other on the run and experience for the first time what it means to love. Only gradually does it become clear who has which past and whether their love can still endure.

Ein Fall für zwei is a German television series, which premiered on September 11, 1981 on ZDF. The series, located in Frankfurt am Main, features two main characters who solve crimes: a defense attorney and a private investigator. Josef Matula, a former German police officer, has gone into private business. His method of investigation is very effective and direct, and he sometimes even resorts to dirty tricks. Claus Theo Gärtner has portrayed the role since the start of the series.
