Meanwhile, Hacıhüsrevli Melahat, a notorious pickpocket, comes to the neighborhood where Pire Nuri lives. Hearing this, Pire Nuri goes after Melahat to attract her to his side. The plot of Death Curtain is incredibly interesting. According to the film, communists are about to blow up Istanbul with a secret bomb hidden in a curtain, but Murat Davman saves Turkey from this disaster. In the film, the leader of the communists is a woman named Leyla Sayar, while the leader of the Turkish police is another woman, Muallâ Kaynak. Murat Davman, meanwhile, is busy dealing with the bomb while also managing to keep up with both women thanks to his "little" flirtations.

The film tells the story of a man trying to find his wife's killer. Returning from a business trip, Yılmaz finds his wife Gülsüm dead. The police then arrive and arrest Yılmaz. At the trial, two neighbors falsely testify against Yılmaz, accusing him of the crime. To avoid being arrested, Yılmaz pretends to be insane. This allows him to avoid going to prison. However, he is admitted to the hospital. Yılmaz will escape from the hospital and attempt to find the killer.

The film deals with the hardships of village life, telling of the cruelty of the village chief towards the villagers. Despite these hardships, it tells of the struggle of the young man nicknamed Yabancı (The Stranger).

Produced, written and directed by Yılmaz Güney within his own personal experiences of capital offense, he dedicates Duvar to male teenagers aged 13 to 19 living behind the bars under diabolical treatments. These teenagers get barbaric corporal punishments, injurious harrows, tortures and sexual abuses just for taking the responsibility of their destiny on a wrong turn.
