The series "Achterbahn" is about friendships and the handling of difficulties and problems from children's everyday lives.

Luise was there for her husband and their two children her whole life. In the meantime, however, daughter Charlotte and son Daniel have long since grown up and are able to stand on their own two feet. And since the death of her beloved husband, Luise has been living alone with her faithful housekeeper Rita in the elegant Hamburg villa. In the meantime, not the slightest thing has changed in Luise's strict solicitude.

Although Frank and Beate are the last two real romantics under the sun, their love initially fails because of a hair-raising misunderstanding. Disillusioned, Beate turns her back on men and emotions to pursue a career as a sober business journalist. When she researches a dubious love novel author a few years later, she has no idea that her great love Frank hides behind her pseudonym.
