The Silver Treasure

Nostromo is the foreman of longshoremen in a South American Republic, and they are to load the cargo of silver that is to come from the San Tome mine. Sotillo and his band gang are plotting to steal the silver, but the fore-warned Nostromo has a plan to outwit them. He meets the silver train far up the road and has the shipment transferred to a big wagon, sending it via side-streets to the wharf. He and his men stay with the train and fight of the bandits. Back at the wharf, Nostromo thinks about claiming the silver was lost in the battle and taking it for himself. He and his conscience struggles mightily.

Shirley of the Circus

Nita is the popular dancer in a French circus. Nita is in love with one of the performers, Pierre. After three years Max calls for her at the convent, but Nita is afraid of him and runs away. Blackthorne asks his fiancé to give her a home, but Nita overhears a conversation about herself and fears she is not wanted. When Pierre calls to take her back to the circus, she goes. Blackthorne misses her and starts out on a search. Max treats them both brutally, and is so jealous of Pierre that he lets him fall during an acrobatic feat. Pierre is injured, but recovers with Nita at his side. Blackthorne finds her and offers her a home again, but she says she will never leave Pierre. —Moving Picture World, November 25, 1922

Ann Jordan, flirtatious and pampered daughter of a wealthy contractor, is engaged to Robert Metcalf, a relaxed and boring young man. She then meets Frank Oaks, who aggressively sweeps her off her feet, and she is presently engaged to him also. Mr. Jordan, Ann's father, becomes interested in one of Robert's friends, Jack Gardner, an engineer who is preparing a design for a bridge competition. The elder Jordan invites Jack to the house and covertly copies Jack's plans for the bridge.

He induces Dick to take him to Myrtleville, where Dick introduces Enderleigh as a prosperous banker promoting a munition plant, thus swindling the townsmen.
