A romantic comedy mostly set on skis: a girl tries to show her boyfriend that she is just as good at winter sports, and gets help from two other boys.

A record of the ascent and descent of Monte Rosa on skis by Arnold Fanck, Hans Rhode and Sepp Allgeier. The party starts from Zermatt through the Rhone Valley. They climb roped from the Betemps Cabane and reach the summit of Monte Rosa, then, they start the descent on skis to return to the refuge. The film is one of the first ski mountaineering films and the first collaboration between Allgeiger and Fanck, two of the fathers of the Bergfilm, the German mountain film genre.

Struggle for the Matterhorn (German: Der Kampf ums Matterhorn) is a 1928 German-Swiss silent drama film co-directed by Mario Bonnard and Nunzio Malasomma and starring Luis Trenker, Marcella Albani, and Alexandra Schmitt. The film is part of the popular cycle of mountain films of the 1920s and 1930s. Art direction was by Heinrich Richter. Based on a novel by Carl Haensel, the film depicts the battle between British and Italian climbers to be the first to climb the Matterhorn. Trenker later remade the film as The Challenge in 1938.

At the end of the 18th century, the wealthy French scholar Saussure comes to a small Alpine village and offers 1,000 pieces of gold to anyone who can lead him to the summit of Mont Blanc. The young farmer's son Jacques Balmat wants to take on the dangerous task, even though his father has told him from an early age about the mighty mountain spirits who guard a legendary treasure of gold on the mountain peak.

After a mountaineer is killed attempting to climb a difficult mountain, his son dreams of conquering the peak that has defeated his father. But his mother makes him promise never to attempt it. Events eventually force her to release him from the promise, and he ascends the mountain successfully.

Dr. Johannes Krafft climbs a 12,000-foot mountain over and over again to search for his wife, who was lost on their honeymoon. Another couple makes the dangerous climb with him.

The mountaineers are two very prominent skiers at the time, Hannes Schneider and Ilse Rohde, who climb the Lyskamm. The sublime beauty of the film is effectively staged. It pays attention both to the observation of nature and to capture the action and technical difficulty of mountaineering. This is a symphony that celebrates in images the beauty of the mountains with their majestic cloud formations and mountain vistas. It is the second film of the mountain film pioneer Arnold Fanck after his 'Das Wunder des Schneeschuhs' both filmed with the collaboration of Sepp Allgeiger. In 2013 the film was restored by the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation and released in DVD.
